The time was spent outdoors enjoying the pleasant sunshine, flowers and breeze by our fountain and those wishing to go for a walk or wheelchair ride had the opportunity. The Christian Reform Women plan to visit each Monday afternoon this month. Queensway Volunteer Auxiliary met Tuesday morning and discussed the upcoming special events in June. In the afternoon the Reverend John Trembulak of Zion Lutheran Church in Dashwood led Worship Service with Belva Fuss as volunteer pianist. Staff and volunteers of Queensway took part in the Exeter Trade show Wednesday and found it very worth- while and interesting. Volunteer Donna Smale organized the euchre participants for their afternoon games. Coffee and current events was the focus Thursday morning with residents perusing several weekly publications and the daily London Free Press over coffee and snack. At the Granton -Wesley United Church on Sun., June 18, Pastor Paul VoRick led the service and the message was entitled `Doing Christianity.' Catherine Dodds lit the Christ can- dle and Mary Waters read the Minute for Mission. The lessons were from Mark 4 and Corinthians 5. The Ministry of Music was I'm Gonna Live So God Can Use Me and I've Got A Peace Like A River. The children's time was about little things becoming big things. The beef supper in the park is Wed., June 21 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. UCW Granton -Wesley UCW met for their general quarterly meeting at the church on Tuesday evening, June 13, commencing with refresh - President Margaret Bryan opened with a reading `I'm Coming Dad.' Unit 3 was in charge of the pro- gram and Elizabeth Garret read 'All You Who Are Weary.' Margaret and Elizabeth read from John 6 about the Valley of Hugs. Anne Pincombe and Helen Wyatt did a skit about 'Too Busy for Yourself.' April Bryan led the song The Battle Hymn of the UCW. Pop tabs are still being collected, this year for a convaid stroller for seven-year-old Christopher Barnes who has Ducheme's Muscular Dystrophy. It was decided to have a bake table at the village yard sale on June 24. The breakfast in the park with Bob Heywood is to be held July 30. President Margaret closed the meeting with the UCW Benediction. At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton on the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, June 18, Rev. Dalice Sim led the service of morning prayer. The message was about the Kingdom of God which grows like the miracle of seeds planted in the earth producing a crop with time and patience. Kathy Blackler read the lessons. In the afternoon a hat party was held in the retirement residence with Leslie Richards entertaining. Red hats, cow- boy hats, spring hats and even a Santa hat appeared. Residents were busy friday afternoon making their gift cards at craft hour. Everyone is pleased to be able to recycle beautiful donated cards in such a useful way. Recently, Queensway Retirement Home green thumb residents enjoyed planting colourful flowers in our raised flowerbeds.
