There has
never been a
shortage of
requests for assis-

individuals and orga-

Lioness attempted to
raise money to meet
these needs.
Some of the early
attempts to fund
raise included host-

the local Ride/Walk
for Cancer, the
March of Dimes and
assisting the Lions
with the C.N.I.B. can-
vass.
They hosted many
successful fashion
shows and dances,
The

served chicken
and/or chili dinners.
Thanks to the hard
work of the members
and the generous
support of the com-
munity, the Lioness
have been successful
in their fundraising
efforts and the com-
munity has benefit-
ed.
The Lioness sup-
ported the communi-
ty by initiating the
Green Thumb Award
in their early years,
the Legion on
Canada Day; enter-
ing the fair parade
and supporting the
rodeo as well as con-
tributing to the drive
to get a
medical
centre.
Their sup-
port of local
youth has
been out-
standing.
They have
hosted for-
eign youth exchange
students and sup-
plied meals for the
Lions Youth
Exchange Camp.
They supported Big
Brothers and Big
Sisters; provided free
skating and swim-
ming; assisted the
O.P.P with the ident-
a-child program and
