The Introit was sung and Bruce Delbridge lit the Christ Candle and Williams gave the welcome and peo- ple shook hands and Williams gave the announcements and Delbridge led in the Call To Worship and the gathering prayer respon- sively. The gathering hymn "Praise My Soul" was sung. Williams gave the Prayer of Confession and the Words of Assurance. The Affirmation of Faith "A New Creed" was read in unison. The children's hymn "This Is God's Wondrous World" was sung and Williams told a story "Rambling Thoughts Of Algonquin Park". The choir sang "God Will Defend You" accompanied by the organist Marilyn Vandenbussche. Psalm 90:1-6, 13-17 parts 1 & 3 were read responsively. Williams read Matthew 22:34-46, and the title of his Sunday Message was "True Greatness". Everyone sang the Hymn of Praise "We Praise You, 0 God". Gerald Johns and Sharon Passmore received the offering. Everyone sang the closing hymn "Bless Now 0 God, the Journey and Williams gave the commissioning and pronounced the benediction. Everyone sang the closing chorus. Announcements Thank you to Bruce Delbridge for leading us in the call to worship and gathering prayer. Sunday School Dates Nov. 6th, Nov 27 & Dec. 4th - Christmas service practice, Dec. 11 Christmas Service followed by lunch, free-will offering. "Operation Christmas Child 2005". Exeter Pentecostal Tabernacle is once again the collection centre in this area. Boxes are available for pickup at the church. The collection week is Tues., Nov. 8 - Fri., Nov. 11. Please contact the Pentecostal Tabernacle at 235- 2991 if you would like boxes and pamphlets. Oct. 28 - Halloween party at church at 6:30 p.m. All area children are welcome to attend. Potluck snacks following the party. Oct. 30 - Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Community of Local United Churches is hosting a Contemporary Worship Service at Woodham U.C. Everyone is welcome. Let's fill the church. Oct. 31 - Volunteers are needed for the 'Out of the Cold' program. Please contact Joan Skinner at 229- 6295 if you are able to help. Nov. 1 - Bethlehem Walk meeting at Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 6 - Remembrance Day Service. Nov. 6 - 27 - The Christian Education Committee is once again holding a silent auction. If you would like to contribute an item to the auction please contact Helen Kadey, Rebecca Heessels, Jayne Rowcliffe, Erin Parsons. Nov. 20 - Mission & Service Sunday with guest speaker Joanne Dinney. There will be lunch following with freewill offering to M&S. Nov. 20 - 'An Evening of Gospel & Christmas Melodies' at Kirkton United Church at 7 p.m. Featuring: Bob Heywood, Clare French, Bev Hagedorn. Freewill offering. Refreshments to follow. Nov. 25 - Nov. 26. "Adventure Together". Celebrate the seasons. An overnight adventure for youth in grades 6-8. Registration at 7 p.m. on the 25th till 7 p.m. on the 26th at the Lambton United Church Centre, $50.00 per person. Registration deadline is Tues., Nov. 15. See bulletin board for form. Nov. 27 - First Sunday of Advent. Personals Madeline Sweitzer of Exeter, BM & Rhoda Rohde picked Jean Johns up and went out for lunch in St. Marys and then back to the home of Jean Johns in St. Marys on Thursday for visiting, cards and lunch. The three ladies went to public school together in Woodham. Erin & Joyce (Rohde) Fatum of Hanover, Tammy Steinback & Justin of Mitchell visited with Bill & Rhoda Rohde on Saturday afternoon. Tammy & Justin also called on her Dad and Mother Glenn & Marilyn Rohde. Kay Hodgert returned home on Friday from South Huron Hospital and Stratford General Hospital. Previous get well wishes are extend - THAMES ROAD NEWS POLICE BRIEF Driver charged after vehicle stop EXETER — Officers stopped a vehicle on Main Street in Exeter Oct. when it was seen with no plates. The officer found a 34 -year-old man from Hanover driving a blue Isuzu that was uninsured. The man will attend court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without insurance on Nov. 18. Dr. J.
