Blood Donor Clinic in Zurich Oct. 22 at Blue Water complex

ZURICH CORRESPONDENT
ZURICH — The Blue Water Ladies Auxiliary meet
every three months on the first Tuesday of the month.
Their next meeting is Nov. 1 at 6:30 in the auditorium.
Lively entertainment coming up by Andy Ray and his
group of musicians. Everyone is welcome.
Also the members are reminded that the $5 due for
2006 will be collected. Please bring along a couple of
can good items for the raffle we will be having at the
residents family Christmas dinner to be held on Sun.,
Nov. 6 at the home.
Hubert and Marge Schilbe have
returned home from Calgary where they
visited with their son Wayne and wife Jodi
and grandchildren Amie and Nicholas who moved to
Calgary this past summer. While in Calgary they also
saw Doug Corriveau, Fred and Tony Denomme and
Tery and Kathy Luther.
Happy belated birthday wishes to Uwe Paschen last
week who lives on the Bronson Line.

The next planning meeting for the 150th anniversary
has been changed to Thurs., Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in the
Sunday School Room at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Time change for the planning meeting of the 150
anniversary fashion ahow on Thurs., Oct. 20 from 8:00
p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Zurich Complex in the small
meeting room.
There will be an important meeting about having a
doctor in Zurich. Did you get the letter with all the
information in it this past week?
Everyone is urged to attend this public meeting on
Thurs., Oct. 20 at the Zurich Complex beginning at
8:30 p.m. Anyone wanting more information on this

What a great play!! "The Choir of Misfits" that was
held at Playhouse II in Grand Bend last Friday
Saturday and Sunday. It was nice to see a lot of famil-
iar faces on stage and all did a great job.
Congratulations to Jeremy Kester and Becky Hunt
who were married at St. Boniface Church on Sat., Oct.
15 with dinner and reception held at the Exeter
Legion. The groom is the son of Tony and Theresa
Kester of Zurich.
St. Boniface and St. Peter's Youth Group will have a
meeting on addiction, Thurs., Oct. 20 in Zurich at the
Parish Hall.
Betty Oke was among those who travelled to
Bowmanville on Saturday to see a hockey game that
her grandson Jeff Oke played in. Jeff played against
Ken Allen who Betty also knew.
The Stratford and District Right to Life annual dinner
will be held on Thurs., Nov. 3 at the Arden Park Hotel
in Stratford at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 a person in advance.

The Annual Fall Pork Supper will be held at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church Hall on Sat., Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.

Once again the Big Band Music will be at the
Bayfield Town Hall on Sat., Nov. 12 with the Festival

Rona Cashway in Zurich is one of the drop off places
that are collecting all kinds of winter clothes (Coats
For Kids Program) through the Canadian Red Cross
during the month of October. Please drop off winter
items before Oct. 28.
There is a Blood Donor Clinic at the Blue Water
Complex in Zurich on Sat., Oct. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m.
Anyone wanting to go to the Catholic Women's
League Deanery meeting in Exeter on Wed., Oct. 26 at
Precious Blood Parish is to call Joan Regier 236-4289.
The Catholic Women's League collect stamps and old
eye glasses. Donations are welcome.
The Zurich Lions Club are celebrating their 60th
Anniversary with an Open House on Sat., Nov. 5 at the
Township of Hay hall from 1 to 5 p.m. Everyone is
invited to come out and help them celebrate with fel-
lowship , fun and refreshments.
The Golden Agers are going to Belgrave on Thurs.,
Oct. 20 to their Zone -8 Rally along with other clubs.
The next Golden Agers meeting is at the
Hay Township Hall on Mon., Nov. 14 at
12 p.m.
May we offer our sincere sympathy to the family and
relatives of the late Pierre Cantin of RR 2, Zurich who
passed away recently.
The monthly birthday party for the residents of Blue
Water Rest Home will be hosted by St. Boniface
Catholic Women's league on Tues., Oct. 25 at 2:30
p.m. in the auditorium.
On Oct. 26 Corky Bedard and Friends will entertain
the residents with music for dancing at 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome.
The Agricultural Society held their meeting at the
Township Hall on Oct. 13 with President Paul Klopp
and Secretary -Treasurer Margaret Deichert in charge.
The annual District number eight dinner will be held
in Kirkton on Tues., Oct. 25 at the community centre
at $20 a person. There will be a silent auction and dis-
plays from various fairs at 6 p.m. The meal is at 7 p.m.

29 there is a seminar on "Cover Your Assets" at

EXETER - 15 members of afternoon unit held their
October meeting Thurs., Oct. 12 at 2:00. Roll call -
"What I Like About Fall" - brought many thoughts of
fall. Information was available for program ideas.
Upcoming bazaar Nov. 12 was mentioned. Mary
Baeckler is baking convener.
Some thoughts were brought forward on future
changes of our group and more ideas will be talked of
at upcoming meetings.
The quilting room location was also questioned a
decision will be made at next meeting.
Cards were signed for Doris Denham & Leona Hern.
Program group with Thanksgiving as their theme,
sang hymns. Janet Baker, Cibmira Ford and Marian
Dougall Jane readings. All members gave verses and
readings & thoughts of this season to give thanks
Giving thanks in many ways was informative and
gave everyone reason for thanks always.
Alma Langfords group served a delicious pumpkin
pie.
Next meeting will be Nov. 10 at 2:00 p.m.
Rostock near Stratford. The annual meeting is set for
Tues., Nov. 29 at the township hall at 7:30 p.m. fol-
lowed by a dessert pot luck social. Elections will also
be held at this time.
I guess you can tell summer is over now as last
Saturday was the last day Jerry Rader Homestyle
Catering had their delicious outdoor barbecue lunch
with entertainment and dessert. It will start again on
May 24, 2006 weekend. His business is open all year
round.
On Fri., Oct. 21 the Lutheran Church Youth Group
will be going to the "Corn Maze" south of Grand Bend.
Sat., Oct. 29 is a day organized by the London
Conference Youth Council. St. Peter's Lutheran Parish
is now working on producing a Christmas Cantata. It is
open to members of the community. Call the church
office for information 236-4697.
On Mon., Oct. 24 the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are
having a Halloween party. There will be a haunted
house at the Lutheran Church. Their annual "Apple
Day" is Sat., Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. The chil-
dren will be treated to hot dogs and refreshments. A
thank you to Ducharme Orchards for the apples.
There was a Paint Ball Tournament at the Maverick
Sport Centre in Zurich over the weekend. Teams came
from places as far away as California.
A Progressive Euchre Party sponsored by the Zurich
Golden Agers will be held at the township hall in
Zurich on Mon., Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Admission $3 and
all are welcome to come out and play..
St. Peter's Catholic Women's League of St. Joseph
are sponsoring a Halloween party on Sat., Oct. 29
from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the parish hall. Tickets are
available at St. Joseph Country Store.
