Oct. 6 By Carmel Sweeney ZURICH CORRESPONDENT ZURICH — Congratulations to Tanya Masse and Jared Richardson who were married on Sat., Oct. 1 at St. Boniface Church followed by a lovely reception and din- ner held at the Blue Water Complex, Zurich. The bride is the daughter of Gerard and Henrica Masse of RR 3, Zurich. On return from their honeymoon to Mexico the couple will be living in Strathroy. Congratulations to Jennifer Morrison and Fred Lopes who were married at the United Church in Drumbo on Sat., Oct. 1. Jenny is the daughter of Paul Morrison of Zurich. Those going to the Holy Family Retreat House in Oxley last weekend were: Debbie Pennings, Evelyn Regier, Jane Lansbergen, Angela Watson and Charlene Finkbeiner. Bridget and John Groot of Zurich, had two nephews and their wives from Holland visiting family members for the past three weeks. St. Boniface and St. Peter's Youth Groups will be meet- ing on Thurs., Oct. 6 which begins with Mass at 7:30 p.m. in the Church Hall. Parents are invited to attend this first meeting and stay for games and fun after Mass. There will be an evening of skating at the Blue Water Complex in Zurich on Sat., Oct. 8 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for the whole family. A freewill donation of cangood items for Blessings Food Bank would be appreciated. Come out and enjoy some skating and bring some friends. There is still time to register for adults and children to skate with the Blue Water Zurich Skating Club. Guest speaker is Father Ray Lawhead. For tickets call Jack Baker at 236-4845 as soon as possible. St. Boniface Knights of Columbus held their executive meeting on Oct. 3 with a good turnout. They are plan- ning an Inter -Council Card Party for Wed., Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Call John Jacobs 262-2013 if you plan to attend. Happy 15th birthday wishes to Jacob Rothenberg on Oct. 1. Happy first wedding anniversary wishes Oct. 9 to Mike and Colleen Cyr from your girls Melody and Michaela. It was just wonderful to see a big group of people come out from various places last Saturday morning (about 50) to help clean up after the barn fire recently at the Klopp farm. Family members, friends and neighbours, while the women were busy feeding those who came. Also a big thank you to everyone who sent food for the noon meal, as it was very much appreciated by Paul and Heather. Special guests were Tim Blackburn of Bayfield Lions club (the past Governor) and Vice Governor Nancy Ransom and Janet Dawson - Brock from the Kitchener club who installed three new mem- bers: Chris Desplenter, Brenda Winhold and Bill Pole. New comers are also welcome. Recently the Scouts went canoeing to Parkhill and Morrison Dam along with leaders and some parents. Anyone with used Scouting uniforms are asked to call for pickup as they are needed for the children. Larry and Karen Smith of Red Deer, Alberta returned home by plane last week. They had been visiting with his parents, Bill and Maddy Smith and relatives in the area. They also attended the wedding of his niece Colleen Wilds and Eric Reymer on Sept. 24. Congratulations to Marion and Laverne McCarter of Exeter who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Oct. 21. They had a brunch with family members at Erb's Country Kitchen.
