Dr. Philip Chan sent a letter out to his patients last week officially announcing he will end his Exeter prac- tice effective Oct. 31. Chan is moving to Vancouver for family reasons. He said he'll do some locum work there and eventually start his own family practice. Chan, who is also chief of emergency for South Huron Hospital, has had his practice in Exeter for four years. Chan has nothing but positive things to say about the community and local health care. "Exeter's been a wonderful community," he said. "The support staff are excellent, wonderful people .. . It's hard for me to leave, but because of family reasons I unfortunately have to move on. I don't think I'll be able to find a better group of people when I move out there." Chan said he'll also be sad to leave his patients, adding he has considered it a privilege to treat and get to know them. x See DOCTOR page 2 Exeter Landfill use to increase By Scott Nixon TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF SOUTH HURON — A plan for Goderich, Huron East and Central Huron to use the Exeter Landfill is one step closer after a council decision Monday night.
