Justin made his entrance into the world at 7:59 am at St. Joseph's Hospital, London weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 ozs. and 20 inches long. First grandson for Glenn & Marilyn Rohde and Judy Steinbach. A great grandson for Bill & Rhoda Rohde and Donna Baker. Smiling down from heaven is Grandpa Jerry Steinbach. Dear mother of Pastor Greg Loosley and his wife Carol of Wickham, New Brunswick, Brad Loosley and his wife Wendy of Petrolia, Stephen Loosley and his wife Janice Harry of Ingersoll and Jeff Loosley and his partner Lisa Taylor of Exeter. Loved grandmother of Shelly (Rodney), Kelly (Chris), Jerri-Lynn (Dave), Jay, Adam, Allison, Patrick, Scott and Emily and great-grandmother of Brooke. Helen is also survived by her step -daughters Keri (Bob) and Kathie (Dan) and by her sev- eral step -grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Alfred Rutledge. Condolences may be forward- ed through www.hopper- hockfh.com (39) MCKAIG, ALETHIA ISABEL (LANE) - Peacefully, by God's grace, Alethia, aged 92, died September 24, 2005 surround- ed by her daughters, and car- ing friends including the lov- ing staff and residents of the 6th floor at York Extendicare. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Shirley Johnston and grandchildren Kathryn of Ottawa, and Colin of Sudbury; daughter Marjorie Woltz and husband Douglas, grandsons Brian (wife Esme) of Victoria, British Columbia and David of London; and Marilyn McKaig of Sudbury. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) McKaig in 1973. She was born in Massey, the daughter of George and Martha (Goodell) Lane on January 24, 1913. She was prede- ceased by brother George Lane and sister Dorothy Andress. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remem- bered by her nieces and nephews. Alethia was a post- mistress in Massey up until her marriage in 1943. She joined her husband living in Alliston and London while he was in the army. Upon William's release from the Army, they moved to Sudbury where she was a stay-at-home mom to her daughters. Alethia lived a quiet life with simple pleasures. She had a wonderful spirit and sense of humour even up until her last days. She was involved in the Service and Cheer and Women's Association at Knox Presbyterian Church. Alethia lived for the spring, summer and fall so she could be outdoors lovingly tending to her flowers and garden. She was a member of the Horticulture Society in years gone by. Rested at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, Sudbury, (705)673- 3611. The Funeral Service will be held at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 73 Larch St., Sudbury on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 2 pm. Interment in the Staffa Cemetery, Sept. 29, 3 pm. Donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or Knox Memorial Fund would be appreciated. (39*) 105 Cards of Thanks DOW - The family of the late Adam R. Dow would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to family, friends, neighbours, co-workers and complete strangers for the acts of kindness, words of comfort, love, support and prayers after Adam's tragic accident that took his life and left his family devastated. Thank you for the many cards received, to all those who brought food, to all who came to the visitations and memorial and especially to all those who donat- ed to the Trust Fund. Thank you to all the Doctors and Nurses of the Cridical Care Trauma Centre of London Health Sciences Centre who cared for Adam and had such compassion for him and his family. Also thank you to C. Since her passing, our family has felt ongoing support so many relatives and friends. The description "Sweet Lady" rings in our ears and we say "Thank You" in a humble way. Donna (39*) WALK FOR KATRINA - Ashlyn Brown and Mallory Overholt were thrilled with the response and support received for their fundraiser for the vic- tims of Hurricane Katrina. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the volunteers, bakers, busi- nesses who donated prizes, everyone who pledged and walkers who made our day a great one! Thanks to Aunt Gussie's, Peckitt's Men's Wear, Sobey's, Bluewater Motel, The Optimist Club, The Lakeshore Advance, Times Advocate, TD Bank, Nelson Desjardine and Bruce Elliott. We raised $7403.55 which included $600 from the bake sale, $1,000 from the Optimists and $2500 raised by Mallory and Ashlyn. Thank you, Mallory and Ashlyn (39x) 106 In Memoriam Ken Bailey In Memoriam August 3, 1962 to September 28, 2004 The Bluewater Recycling Association mourns the loss of Ken Bailey in his 42nd year, on September 28, 2004. His life will be remembered by his family, his many friends and co-workers. He lived his life to the fullest and we are grateful to have been part of it, albeit too short. His sentiments of life may also echo in this beautiful Native American Prayer by an unknown author: I give you this one thought to keep; I am with you still - I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on the snow, I am the sunlight on the ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of the quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not think of me as gone - I am with you still - in each new dawn." Ken, you will always be remembered.
