POLICE BRIEF Tires stolen EXETER — An officer was patrolling the parking lot of HMP on London Road in Exeter on Sept.16 when a vehicle drew his attention. The officer noticed a vehicle was sitting on blocks and called a member of HMP motors. Someone had jacked up a used Cadillac Escalade and stole four tires and rims. The theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. on Sept.15 and 1 a.m. on Sept. 16. The vehicle was parked in the north end of the lot. The theft is estimated at about $4,000. I HAPPY INV511! The introit w a s sung and Evelyn Johns lit the Christ Candle. Williams welcomed everyone and people shook hands and he gave the announce- ments. Johns led in the Call to Worship and Gathering Prayer responsively. The gathering hymn, "Make a Joyful Noise" was sung. Williams gave the Prayer of Confession and Words of Assurance. The Affirmation of Faith, "A New Creed" was read. The children's hymn, "Jesus You Have Come to the Lakeshore," was sung and Williams told the youth a story, "Walk on the Beach, Sort Out the Garbage from the Good Things." The choir sang "He's Only a Prayer Away" accompanied by organist Jean Hodgert. Psalm 78:1-7, 12-16 was read responsively. Williams read from Exodus 17:1-7 and the title of his mes- sage was "Where's God?" Hymn of Praise "Jesus Calls Us" was sung. Marilyn Vandenbussche and Virginia Warwick received the offering. Williams gave the Offertory Prayer and the prayers of the congrega- tion. The closing hymn "Guide Me 0' Thou Great Jehovah" was sung and Williams gave the com- missioning and the bene- diction. The closing cho- rus was sung. Announcements Thank you to Evelyn Johns for leading us in the Call to Worship and Gathering Prayer. Dave will be away from Sept. 26 to Oct. 4. Oct. 19 will be the official visit of the vice president of the Rebekah Assembly. There will be a banquet at Thames Rd. Church at 6:30 and a meeting to fol- low at the hall.
