Members and friends of
Clandeboye Women's
Institute (WI) met at Gail
Lamb's home on Wed.,
Sept. 14 which is located
near Clandeboye and is
better known as
Hearthstone Farm.
President Betty McIntyre
led the meeting in the spa-
cious lounge attached to
the horse arena.
Lamb
then joined
the group and gave some
interesting statistics on the
economic impact of the
horse industry in Ontario.
She also showed a video of
a horse trained in dres-
sage performing at the
Olympics in Athens.
There are 23 horses in
stalls at Hearthstone Farm
that are mainly trained

for dressage. The horses
are fed four times a day
and each consumes two-
thirds of a bale of hay
each day.
Some of the group had a
ride in a cart drawn by an
11 -year-old pony named
Magic, in the horse arena.
Later, in the house
Marilyn Dixon and Irene
Lynn served refreshments,
assisted by hostess Lamb.
It was truly a fantastic
experience to visit
Hearthstone Farm.
