Youth arrested for robbery
EXETER — On Sept. 23
Huron OPP were contact-
ed by a 13 -year-old male
youth over the loss of his
money. The youth had
been at a local high school
in Exeter that day when
he was approached in the
hallway by another youth
asking for money. The
youth refused to give the
other male the cash and
was challenged to a fight,
which he refused to par-
ticipate in. A teacher
inside the school came
across the group of teens
and broke things up The
young male along with
some friends left the
school and went to the
Main Street of Exeter for
food. The 13 -year-old
male youth was in the
parking lot of a fast food
business when the same
youth from the school
confronted him again. The
15 -year-old male
demanded cash and made
threats of violence
towards him if he didn't
comply. The youth feared
for his safety and handed
over the cash to the 15 -
year -old male. The 15 -
year -old youth who is
from the South IIuron
area was arrested and
held in custody awaiting a
bail hearing in Goderich.
He has been charged with
robbery and breaching
probation.

Autumn
Indulgence raises
over $40,000
The Grand Bend Rotary Club's second annual
Autumn Indulgence held Saturday night at the Huron
Country Playhouse was another success this year.
While final figures weren't available at press time,
organizers said numbers exceeded last year's total,
which was $41,000.The evening, which was sold out,
was attended by about 500 people and included a
gourmet steak and lobster dinner, entertainment and
live and silent auctions featuring Adirondack chairs
painted by local artists. Pictured above from left

80 -year-old man dies
SOUTH HURON — An 80 -year-old man from
Brunner was killed after his 15 -year-old grandson
accidentally struck him with a tractor.
Allen Gascho's grandson was moving corn and hay
at Morrison Line Feeders, a large cattle operation on
the family property on Sept. 20 when the incident
occurred.
Gascho's son, Ron says "My father loved nothing
more than to spend time with his family, he was doing
what he loved most when he passed."
Gascho was a deeply religious and caring man,
belonging to the Milverton Conservative Mennonite
Church.
He was a retired farmer who spent his entire life in
the Milverton area, according to The London Free
Press.
Gascho met and married his wife 58 years ago and
fathered eight children.
He also had a large extended family of more than 40
grandchildren.
