EXETER — Michael
and Judy Skochinski will
be in for a bit of a sur-
prise when they arrive
home Thursday night.
Their 268 Rivers
Boulevard home has
been redesigned as part
of a program called
"Rooms By Rae -Ann,"
sponsored by Dinney
Furniture.
This is the third such
television program the
Dinney team has done,
featuring interior design-
er Rae -Ann Ladouceur.
Owner Jon Dinney says
about 27,000 cable sub-
scribers see the show
and they've been suc-
cessful.
As part of the show, the
Skochinskis have stayed
at the Oakwood Inn since
Monday and will remain
there until Thursday. In
the meantime, the inside
of their home will be
completely redesigned
including new furniture,
paint, lighting fixtures,
lamps, flooring and the
removal of a couple of
walls.
Dinney invites neigh-
bours and friends to
come out to the
Skochinski home
Thursday at 7 p.m. to
cheer on the homeown-
ers as they see their
newly -designed home.
Dinney said the
Skochinskis are aware of
most of the work being
done to their home, but
there will be a few sur-
prises.
"This is pretty excit-
ing," he says.

Invitation to Express Interest
for Curriculum Writing
The Source Water Protection Planning Project (ABCA and
MVCA) invites expressions of interest from qualified
persons to provide a Source Water Protection Curriculum
for working groups. The Project Team is anticipating the
need to develop an adult education program for groups
which may be required as part of an expected planning
process considered in proposed legislation. The Curriculum
Writer would work with our communications team to
develop the curriculum program which will include
translating technical material in development into easily -
understood educational materials and activities. As well, the
process should elicit insights and ideas about source
protection planning from the participants.
The consultant will have extensive knowledge of adult
education techniques and have relevant education
credentials. Expressions of interest should not exceed 2
pages in length, plus an attached list of relevant projects and
references. The expression of interest will be reviewed to
determine recipients of a more detailed Request for
Proposal. For further information contact Cathie Brown at
519-235-2610.
Expressions of interest must be submitted before 12:00
p.m. on September 28, 2005 to:

envelope), Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority, 71108

GODERICH — It will take a dose of
strategy, a pinch of adventure and a
whole lot of luck to capture the top
prize in Huron United Way's
fundraising "Amazing Race," set to
take place Oct. 22 on a path that
will take participants across the
county's 840,960 acres of land
stretching from the lakeshore
inland.
"The competition mimics CBS's
popular `Amazing Race,' but plan-
ners are giving it a very distinctive
Huron County flavour," says Huron
United Way executive director Kim
Payne.
In the televised "Amazing Race,"
competitors race around the world,
completing tasks and traversing
routes in the face of numerous chal-
lenges, including transportation,
money and language.
They bungee jump from buildings,
chop buckets of onions, build rafts
and do other tasks that draw on a
physical, mental and teamwork
abilities. In the television series, the
winning team is awarded $1 mil-
lion.
In the Huron United Way's
"Amazing Race," 25 teams will
compete for a $1,500 prize, once
they've gathered the $500 in
pledges required to register.
On race day, teams will discover
how well they work together in
whatever weather the day brings.
Along the way, they will be chal-
lenged by detours that give two
choices for completing a task, fast -
forwards that allow teams to go
directly to the next pit stop, road-
blocks that require just one member
to perform a task, or yields that
delay either themselves or another
team.
"Grab a teammate — whether it's
your best friend, your partner, your
mom, your dad or Uncle Bob and
sign up for a great day of fun," said
Payne.
The registration deadline is Oct. 7.
