Members went by car to the Shall B Inn for a tour and then back to Noella's home. President Alma Davey was in charge of the meeting. The roll call was "Childhood memory of something you used to recite or do as a child". Members were remind- ed of the Oct. 3 rally in Belgrave and the London Area Conservation in Mount Brydges on Oct. 4. Plans were made for the annual Senior Citizens dinner on Nov. 21 at the Crediton Hall. Four members volun- teered to help in the tea room at the Exeter Fall Fair on Sat. Sept. 24. Noella and Rosemary Neeb chaired the pro- gram and the Motto was, "On a regular basis take the opportunity to be good to yourself. You will be much better equipped CWL Food Drive scheduled for Sept. 25 EXETER - Our Sept. 13 meeting was attended by 16 members. Father Ray Lawhead celebrated Mass and then the C.W.L. ladies recalled a memorable church family members in your daily prayers. Our strength is their strength! Share Yours! Wendy reported on the Elder Care Workshop recently attended by 5 of event of their summer our members in Grand Mary Pavjeke intro- Bend. Take time for our duced Liz Davis from elders visit them, share The Dove's Nest in Exeter as our guest speaker. Please take a moment in your busy lives to volun- teer your time or make a donation. We enjoyed listening to Liz's dedication and love she shares through her hard work. Minutes of our last meeting were read by Wendy Meidinger (in Jacqueline Hanson's absence due to ill health). Correspondence was read by Mary P. and the treasurer didn't have any changes to report. Joan Agnew spoke about the Right to Life, donations going to Hensall to be sent to victims of the hur- ricane in New Orleans, and also our Food Drive on Sept. 25. Remember to keep our wo„4,, a meal, your time is a gift to them. Darlene Geoffrey or Denise Morgan are look- ing for volunteers to assist at our tour Wed., Nov 2 Penny Sale at our church. Aggie Groenwegen agreed to make more baby Baptismal Stoles. Father Ray made a request for a contribu- tion towards a projector. We agreed to contribute with the Knight's of Columbus & Our Lady of Mount Carmel C.W.L. ladies. Our donations to a September charity were for COR and the Exeter Food Bank. Brenda Winters won the door prize. Our next meeting is Tues., Oct. 11 after 7 pm Mass. Exeter UCW hears speaker EXETER — The September meeting of the afternoon unit of the Exeter United Church Women was held Sept. 15. After lunch at the Gossiping Goose, the women went to the church for business led by Marian Dougall. Worship was led by Alma Langford, Ruth Insley, Chris Phillips and Laura Sillery on the theme of Reflections. The video "Mirror, mir- ror what do you see? Members learned how to do the Broom Dance. Readings enjoyed were "Getting Settled", Always good to laugh" and tips for mental well being by Noella. Rosemary read "Why", "Thinking" and "Three secrets that will help you sleep like a baby". All enjoyed hearing about, "The Girls Night Out" and a delicious lunch was served by Noella and Rosemary. Church News A six week study group, "Your Spiritual Autobiography to help you explore your life story within a faith com- mitment continues each Tuesday until Oct. 18 at 7 pm. The regular Bible Study on the Gospel of John resumes on Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. with no meeting on Nov. 4. The introductory meet- ing of a new monthly youth group for young people in grades six to eight will be held on Sun. evening, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. Volunteer helpers and leaders are most wel- come. The junior youth group for grades one to five meets every other Wednesday beginning Oct. 12 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The annual beef supper sponsored by the Board of Stewards will be held on Sun., Oct. 23 at the Crediton Hall.
