(photos/Nina Van Lieshout) Need help solving recent and past thefts BLUEWATER — On Sept. 3 a citizen contacted police over the theft of his bike while at a bush party near Bayfield in Bluewater. The citizen had attended the bush party in a Land Rover, leaving a bicycle strapped to the top on roof racks. While at the party during the early morning hours, a person stole a blue/grey 24 Speed Yukon Giant mountain bike. During the theft the roof racks of the Land Rover were damaged and deep scratches were left in the roof. If you were at this party and have information that can assist the officer in finding the bike call the local OPP office or Crimestoppers at 1-800- 222-8477. SOUTH HURON - Last July 17. OPP were called to Ironwood Golf Course after an intrusion alarm was activated. Two pop machines located outside of the building were forced open and a quanti- ty of coin was stolen. The machines received about $300 worth of damage. The business also suffered the damage of the smashed door window. The two suspects were caught on video footage, which indicated that the male and female were between 18-22 years old, both white with coloured hair. The female had her hair in a bun. The male's hair was short. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CLOSE HIGHWAY The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Lucan Biddulph has determined that Adare Drive between Roman Line and Saintsbury Line legally described as part of the road allowance between Lots 10 and 11, Concessions 5 and 6, in the Township of Lucan Biddulph, now designated as PARTS 1, 2, 3 and 4 on Reference Plan 33R- 16197 is a redundant highway and it would be proper to close the said highway pursuant to the authority of Section 34 of The Municipal Act. Council intends to pass a Bylaw closing Adare Drive at its meeting on Monday September 19, 2005 after providing notice of the intended road closing for a period of four consecutive weeks in the local newspaper. Persons wishing to make representations, presentation or written or verbal comments may do so by attending the public meeting immediately prior to the matter being determined by council at the council chambers to be held at 33351 Richmond Street, Lucan, Ontario at 8:00 p.m. on Monday September 19th 2005. The citizen provided a description of a green Chevrolet pickup truck. An officer in the Bayfield area came across a similar vehicle on Victoria Street inside the village. The driver was approached and the person was found with alcohol on his breath. The driver was given a roadside test, which indicated a fail. The driver was then taken for breath tests found just below the level of criminal charges being laid. A 17 -year-old male youth from Bluewater was issued a 12 -hour license suspension and issued a traffic ticket for driving a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level above zero for a Class G2 holder of a driver's license.
