POLICE BRIEFS
Van damaged in Hensall
HENSALL — Huron OPP were called to Hensall Aug.
18 over damage done to a green 1999 Dodge Caravan.
An officer discovered someone the night before had
entered an apartment complex parking lot and threw
cooking grease all over the vehicle. If you have any
information about this incident contact the OPP or
Crimestoppers.
Hensall pavilion on break in
HENSALL — OPP were called to the Hensall
Community Centre on Oxford Street Aug. 9. Someone
forced open a door to the pavilion west of the arena,
stealing a small quantity of pop, candy and food prod-
ucts.
Riding lawnmower stolen
SOUTH HURON — On Aug. 17 at approximately 6
a.m., a citizen reported two males pushing a riding
lawnmower on Huron Park Road. An officer arrived,
finding two males pushing a red Dynamark riding lawn-
mower. It turned out to be the owner of the lawnmower
and a neighbour who had also seen two males pushing
the lawnmower down the street earlier that morning.
The property is back to the rightful owner but police
would like to find the persons responsible.
Cigarettes stolen from
Zurich business
ZURICH — OPP responded to an intrusion alarm at
Zurich Gas Bar/Erbs Country Kitchen Aug. 26. Officers
found that thieves entered the business through the
back door and stole approximately five cartons of ciga-
rettes before the alarm was activated. The total theft is
about $300.
