Crowning
The Ilderton Fair Ambassador Competition was held Aug. 25 at the Ilderton
Community Centre. Also included was a Prince and Princess Competition.

market at Denfield
Livestock Sales traded
on a good demand at
steady prices on all
classes of fed cattle
with the fancy cattle
selling at premium
prices. A good offering
of cows sold strong at
steady prices, stockers
sold strong, Holstein
bull calves steady, sows
and boars were steady.
Robert Ready, St.
Marys sold six steers
average weight 1345,
average price 96.93 to
a high of 98.75 all of
which were purchased
by Norwich Packers.
Clayton Oniel and
Sons, Denfield sold nine
head average weight
1347, average price
87.96 to a high of
96.25.
Clarence Carter,
Parkhill sold a
Limousin bull weighing
1935 at 51 purchased
by Levinoff.
Tom Leneve, Sarnia
sold eight stocker
steers average weight
614, average price
113.50.

and heifers sold $1 lower.
Choice steers and heifers
sold 89 to 95 sales to
105.25, second -cut steers
and heifers sold 86 to 88.
The cows traded on a
steady market.
Thursday: The veal sold
on a strong active trade
with prices up $2. The
lambs traded on a steady
market.
Friday: All weights and
classes of stockers sold on
a strong active market with
prices remaining steady to
last week.
Steers
There were 519 steers on
offer.
Aaron F. Martin, Newton
consigned one blonde steer
weighing 1450 lbs which
sold for 105.25. His overall
offering of eight steers aver-
aged 1449 lbs selling for an
average price of 98.25.
Walter Riddell, Granton
consigned one limo steer
weighing 1325 lbs which
sold for 102.75. His overall
offering of nine steers aver-
aged 1181 lbs selling for an
average price of 96.59.
Twelve steers consigned
by Emerson L. Martin,
Linwood averaged 1409 lbs
selling for an average price
of 97.14 with his top four
limo steers averaging 1320
lbs selling for 99.75.

on offer.
