U9 Exeter (B) Tournament
The tournament was a great
success for us although we
came in third the team
played brilliantly. We scored
6 goals, Matthew Smillie (2),
Ryan Smillie (2), Adam Tait
(1) and Morgan McCann (1).
Our goalkeepers Evan
Winbow and Adam Tait had
a great game, Evan being
the main goalie and saving
the day a few times. Wesley
Dearing was as usual a very
solid defender. Katey
Prance ran her heart out as
did Adam Tait. William
Regier missed scoring by a
hairs breath a few times.
Morgan Denomme and
Daylene Wright played real-
ly well infact no one would
have guessed this was their
first year playing soccer.
Morgan McCann's passing
was excellent along with the
rest of the team. Matthew
and Ryan Smillie had a real
gutsy game even passed to
each other instead of fight-
ing. Janece Boersma,
Danielle Vanderlaan and
Jason Metzger could not
make the tournament and
were truely missed. I have
your medals because you
deserve it for all your hard
work throughout all the
games. I am proud of you
all, thanks for being the best
team ever.

Under 17 Girls
On July 28, the Exeter U17
Girls played in Strathroy.
Exeter edged the hosts 2-1
in a close, come from
behind victory. Despite
some tough defence, Faith
Anne Wagler notched both
goals. Keri Reschke; a call
up from U15, played a
great game in the midfield.
U17 Girls
On Aug. 4, Exeter played
host to Delko Bridge.
Exeter came out on top with
a strong 7-2 victory. Goal
scorers were Kristin
Ferguson, Keri Reschke
with 3 and Faith Anne
Wagler with 3 as well. Shan
Cooper played a good team
game by setting up goals
with precise passing and
good crosses.
On Aug. 11, Exeter travelled
to Grand Bend. Exeter
completed a fantastic regu-
lar season with a record of
13-0-0 by defeating the
home squad 4-1. It was a
great team effort. Goal scor-
ers were Faith Anne Wagler
with 2, Keri Reschke and
Miranda Mattucci with 1
each. Mattucci and Colleen
Willert had strong games.
Playing good games as well
were three U-15 call-ups
Lindsey Hayter, Lindsey
Mills and Keri Reschke.

Comments: The guys fell
behind 3-1 early and fought
their way back into the
game scoring three unan-
swered goals to lead 4-3.
The Falcons tied it up at
four and then Josh DenOtter
took the lead off a penalty
and Tanner Shapton put it
away with the fifth goal. This
was their best game of the
season and I am very proud
of them for not giving up.
