THE FOLLOWING RECIPE IS A SNAP TO MAKE, CAN BE ADAPTED TO WHAT YOU HAVE ON HAND AND IS A GREAT COMPLIMENT TO ANY MEAT ON THE BBQ. VEGGIES WRAPPED UP! Cut up onions, red pepper, mushrooms, zucchini and place in the centre of a well sprayed piece of tinfoil. Top with a drizzle of your favorite BBQ sauce and a shake of steak pepper seasoning. Slip a piece of Swiss cheese cut into cubes among the veggies. Tightly wrap the veggies and then double wrap. Place on the BBQ for at least 15 minutes, the longer the softer. Variations: Sauces: use a Szechwan sauce, aTeriyaki marinade, or a salad dressing Veggies: try green beans, snap peas, carrots, or other in season vegetables Cheeses: try cheddar, cream cheese or omit Seasonings: use fresh herbs, lots of garlic, or just black pepper COMING UP: A new contest for my September "Back to School Ideas" Feature. LOOKING FORWARD TO LOTS OF ENTRIES AND ANOTHER FUN TIME WITH MY TASTE TESTERS. DETAILS IN A COLUMN SOON! SummerTech Camp for inquisitive kids By Stephanie Mandziuk TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF CLINTON — Summer camp isn't always about swim- ming, crafts and campfires. This year something different is being offered by the Huron -Perth Catholic District School Board and the Training Board. "We want to introduce technology to students at a younger age and we want to get students thinking, at an earlier age, what technology has to offer," says Tim Martens, the man who came up with the Tech Camp proposal. Martens works for the school board and is a director with the Training Board. "We had to turn away more than we accepted. We have 25 students at the St. Anne's camp in Clinton and another 25 at the St. Michael's camp in Stratford." It's the first time the board has sponsored a summer Tech Camp. Last week students engaged in some challenges: designing, woodworking, metal fabricating and weld- ing. Their cardboard boat creations were tested in St. Mary's at Wildwood Conservation Area. Model planes were airborne for the glider challenge at Stratford Airport, followed by an industry tour at FAG Aerospace. Woodworking abilities were put to the test when stu- dents constructed message boards and can crushers. They also leanred how to service lawn mowers and vehicles. The week wrapped -up with a bang when the kids launched their pop bottle rockets. Martens is hoping the Tech Camp will grow and more kids will get a chance to learn about the endless possibilities in the world of technology.
