The Times Advocate, 2005-07-20, Page 88 Exeter Times—Advocate Wednesday,July 20, 2005 Lots of events at this weekend's Zurich Fair By Carmel Sweeney ZURICH CORRESPONDENT ZURICH —The Zurich fair is this weekend. There will be lots of activ- ities going on for every- one of all ages so be sure to come out and take part in the events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The parade lineup is at the Zurich Public School on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. It will come out on John Street and go down the Main Street all the way to the Blue Water Complex. On Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m. there will be roller skating/rollerblad- ing at the Complex. Babies wanted All babies from new- born to one year old come out and take part in the baby show at the fair on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. It is free. Come out and register at 1:30 p.m. It is not a com- petition just a lot of fun and all babies are win- ners. There are wonder- ful door prizes donated by various business places in town. The next meeting for the 150th anniversary in Zurich will be held Wed., July 27 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church hall. Dwayne and Claudia Martin and their two boys have moved into the for- mer home of Donna O'Brien. O'Brien is now living at the Meidinger Apartments in Zurich. Dorcus and Lloyd Tate and two girls from Barrie spent the weekend with her parents Marlene and Lewis Gingerich. They attended the Gerber fam- ily gathering Sun., July 17 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church fellowship hall. The Vacation Bible School program held last week at the Mennonite Church was another big success. The program on Friday evening had a good turnout of parents and relatives to enjoy the program put on by the children. The volunteer appreciation supper was held July 18 at the Mennonite Church hall. Golf club used on car EXETER — A man armed with a golf club smashed windows, lights and left dents in a car parked at the Ironwood Goff & Country Club July 13. Damage to the white 1992 Mercury Topaz is pegged at $3000. The perpetrator was located and arrested on a trail leading into Exeter. They enjoyed seeing the Bay of Fundy. On their way home they stopped at St. Anne de Beaupre Shrine in Quebec. Recently friends and neighbours were invited to stop in at the home of Pastor Phil Wagler and wife Jen and family to say hello and welcome their new two-year-old daugh- ter, Jessie. Len and Jean Leng of RR 2, Zurich have returned from a two- week vacation to Chilliwak, British Columbia where they vis- ited with relatives. The Grand Bend seniors band will be entertaining at the Blue Water Rest Home July 22 at 2:30 p.m. Members of the Women's Institute are asked to help take the tuck shop cart around to the rooms at the Blue Water Rest Home every Tuesday morning. On July 26 at 6:30 p.m. some residents will be going by bus to hear the Lakeview Conservative Mennonite Choir sing. Mary F. Dow and Murray Christie will be there at 2:30 p.m. Congratulations to Corey Wildfong and Lesley DeRooy who were married July 16 at the Blue Water Complex where the dinner and reception was held. Mick and Kathleen Todoroff recently spent two weeks visiting their family members in Kentucky and Tennessee. Jim and Ruth Gingerich also spent holi- days there. Kevin and Shelley Geoffrey spent a week's holiday with relatives Jim and Bunny at their cot- tage in Michigan.
