They were all part of a fun night for clients sponsored by the Community Living South Huron Auxiliary. A day earlier, 102 clients of the agency received a special surprise — $100 each thanks to the success of the new Arc Angels thrift store. Since January it has earned $25,000. There are expenses to take into account, but the auxiliary wants to share as much as it can with its clients. It's hoping to repeat the gesture before Christmas — that's another $10,200. The latest sighting of the alligator was July 12 as it was catching some rays. Kate Monk, with the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority, says it's likely a Caiman member of the Crocodilian family because that's the breed often sold in the pet trade. It's suspected someone dumped the 18 inch creature in the area. Alligators are not indige- nous to local waters. It is not expected to survive because the habitat is not suitable. So far ABCA staff have not seen the gator. They're hoping someone will tip them off quickly so 7 Capsule Comments by Ernie Miatello From the new medical dictionary: Cosmeceuticals are ingredients in cosmetic preparations that contain chemicals that are biologically active. Anti -wrinkle creams, anti - baldness preparations and sunscreens are examples of products containing cosmeceuticals. It's interesting that two of the most famous soft drinks in the world were given life through the efforts of pharmacists. Coca Cola was invented by a pharmacist in the U.S. and Canada Dry Ginger Ale was patented by Canadian pharmacist, John McLaughlin back in 1907. Pharmacists were also involved with the origin of Hires Root Beer and Dr. Pepper. Why pharmacists? They knew a lot about flavours and how to carbonate liquids at their pharmacy soda fountains. Do you have trouble being open and inviting with people you meet? Monk says the ABCA would turn it over to one of two agencies. The first would place the gator in an adoptive home and the other would use it for edu- cational displays.
