The Times Advocate, 2005-07-11, Page 29Wednesday, July 13, 2005 Exeter Times—Advocate 29 Letter from Bishop to be read in August By Hazel Davis SAINTSBURY CORRESPONDENT SAINTSBURY - Hugh and Hazel Davis were overnight visitors with granddaughter Courtney MacGillivray at her new residence at Penetanguishene on Monday and Tuesday. Enjoying the sights in the pretty little town and also a number of attractions in Midland along with a won- derful visit, also this week enjoying lunch with Bill and Betty Johnson of Owen Sound and Melba Maillet of Goderich for dinner. On Saturday evening The Rev. Stanley Jay was at St. Patrick's at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the Holy Eucharist and to preach for the 8th Sunday after Pentecost. A good crowd attended the service with processional hymn "What a Friend we have in Jesus" Scripture readings were given by Suzanne Davis, Katie -Scarlett MacGillivray, Margaret Carroll and Hazel Davis, Courtney MacGillivray was lay assistant to Rev. Jay Starr Davis presented the offering. Following prayers and evening hymn everyone was invited into the parish hall for a time of fellowship and refresh- ments. Thanks to the MacGillivray family for providing the goodies. Courtney MacGillivray was weekend visitor with her family in Lucan from her new residence in Penetanguishene. No service scheduled for the remaining weeks in July at St. Patrick's as they begin their summer schedule. Hazel Davis received a letter this week from our Bishop The Reverend Bruce Howe with sincere thanks for our apportion- ment paid in full and going the extra mile as well as the outreach ministry that has been received from St. Patrick's, our update on "Life at St. Patrick's" and our Bishops letter will be read when we resume worship in August. A number of family members visited with Hugh and Hazel on the weekend.
