Good cows sold sharply higher with the good fed cows selling strong. A large offering of Holstein bull calves sold very active at strong prices. Sows and boars sold steady. Isabelle Bullock, Parkhill sold 20 mixed steers aver- age weight 1316 lbs, average price 81.85 with sales to 92.25 purchased by Norval Meats. Choice steers: 88-100; Good steers: 82-89; Plain steers: 70-80; Choice exotic cross heifers: 90-98; Good heifers: 82-87; Plain heifers: 60-70; Good fed cows: 36- 50; D1 and D2 cows: 27-35; D3 and D4 cows: 20-25; Shells: 10-20; Good beef bulls: 40-50; Ilolstein bulls: 30-35; Good Holstein bull calves: $180-$285; Sows: 45- 50. ■ GIN A/ Lambs selling on active, higher trade For the week ending July 8, total receipts were 2,202 head of cattle, 824 lambs and goats. Summary Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold $2 higher. Choice steers and heifers sold 89 to 94 sales to 115, second -cut steers and heifers sold 85 to 90. The cows sold $3 to $4 higher. Thursday: The veal sold on a strong market with prices $2 to $3 higher. Lambs sold on a active higher trade. Friday: The calves and year- lings sold $2 to $3 higher. Steers There were 583 steers on offer. A sim steer consigned by Dave Baker, Brussels weighed 1390 lbs sold for 115 with his overall offering of six steers averaging 1436 lbs sold for an average of 108.24. Eleven steers consigned by Owen B. Martin, Wellesley averaging 1353 lbs selling for an average of 102.57 with sales to 112.50. Twelve steers consigned by Emerson L. Martin, Linwood averaging 1462 lbs selling for an average of 100.37 with sales to 105.25. Heifers There were 347 heifers on offer. Two Limo heifers consigned by John Richardson, Harriston averaging 1580 lbs sold for an average of 97.92 with sales to 105.25. Eleven heifers consigned by Darren Johnston, Bluevale averaging 1197 lbs sold for an average of 88.37 with sales to 94.50.
