Ross MacDonald School for the Blind in Brantford. The event raised $4, 500 for the school's music and woodworking programs. Event organizers received a $500 cheque from the Grand Bend Legion and $1,500 from the West Coast Riders. Patrons enjoyed an afternoon of music thanks to the Cameo Jazz Band. Stanley Jay to officiate By Hazel Davis SAINTSBURY CORRESPONDENT SAINTSBURY - Hugh and Hazel Davis called on cousin Marjorie Davis at Kensington Retirement Home in London on Monday -Marjorie will celebrate her 100 birth- day Oct. 1 5 -and Wednesday visited cousin Helen MacDonald who is a patient in South Huron Hospital. Our get well wishes go out to her from all her friends and relatives at St. Patrick's. St. Patrick's held their evening prayer service on Saturday evening cele- brating ACW Sunday led by Katie -Scarlett MacGillivray. Processional hymn was the ACW hymn, "The Love of Christ Constraineth" followed by the story of Roberta Elizabeth Tilton, founder of the Women's Auxiliary of the Canadian Church in 1885 now called the Anglican Church Women or ACW. All the women of the congregation old and young took part with Scripture readings and prayers also favouring with the singing of the hymn, "Holy Spirit Hear Us." Message and focus topic was "Living Stones" and how the New Testament says we are living stones and suggests that God's house is made of us. Several in the communi- ty enjoyed holiday get- togethers. Bob and Heather MacGillivray enjoyed a visit with friends at Dungannon and attended the rock and roll concert with Freddy Vette at the Goderich Arena. Suzanne Davis, Starr and her friend visited with Hub and Mary Theil on July 1 at their holiday get- together along with a number of family and friends near Zurich. Hugh and Hazel enjoyed visits from a number of family m e m - be r s during the week and over the holiday. Ron and Margaret Carroll enjoyed visits from grandchildren and daugh- ter Brenda on the week- end. Grandson Greg Clark of Walkerton and his friend visited with Stevie MacGillivray during the week. Last weekend she enjoyed a visit from s friend from her time in the military as CWAC in England during WWII who was attending cele- brations at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church on Highway 4. Saturday evening Suzanne Davis was guest of friends Glen and Marilyn Rohde. Heather and Bob MacGillivray enjoyed the ball games at Wallaceburg on the week- end when twin sons, Caleb and Corbin, playing for London North team won against Leamington and Essex. Corbin hit two home runs. Congratulations guys. The Rev. Stanley Jay will officiate and preach at St. Patrick's on Sat., July 9 at 6 p.m. prior to our sum- mer schedule. POLICE BRIEF Driver arrested SOUTH HURON -An officer working in South Huron recently received two calls from citizens about the operation of a red 1994 Nissan Sentra with a group of teens inside. The callers indi- cated the driver was all over the road causing oth- ers to drive defensively. The officer located the vehicle on Dashwood Road between Grand Bend and Exeter. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was asked to provide breath samples, which he refused. An 18 - year -old male from Cambridge has been charged with refusing to provide breath samples and breaching probation. Investigators say a man walked into the facility around 5:30 p.m., went upstairs and broke into the office. Once inside, he opened an outside office door to let in his accomplice. The pair cut the safe's lock and took $700. One suspect is described as a white male with a dark complexion. He's 5'5" tall, 45- 50 years -old with a salt/pepper brush cut and receding hairline.
