HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Times Advocate, 2005-07-06, Page 1616 Exeter Times—Advocate Wednesday, July 6, 2005 The Maple Leaf in full flight during Canada Day 14411:1101* ° Canada Day celebrations in Exeter and Lucan were graced with perfect weather this year as young and old helped celebrate their country's birthday.The South Huron Rec Centre and Ag Building hosted many activities, including entertain- ment, games for kids, a bike decorating contest, a roast beef dinner and the popu- lar classic car show.Above Ieft,Annick Maes of Hensall was kept busy painting faces in the Rec Centre.With her are sisters Bridget and Madeline Dougherty of Toronto, in town visiting their grandparents. Below, Kelly Glavin of Exeter success- fully pins the tail on the beaver. Above, Jaimee Clarke of Exeter entered her bike in the bike decorating contest, while below, Phil Marlow stands with his 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6, which he calls "the pinnacle of muscle cars" of the 1970s. Marlow's car has 40,000 miles on it and features a 25 -year-old paint job. He takes the car out for special occasions and will be at this year's Zurich Bean Festival.
