Total Receipts 2,221 head of cattle, 608 lambs and goats. Summary Tuesday: The fed steers and heifers sold on a strong active trade. Choice steers and heifers sold 89 to 93 sales to 110.25, second -cut steers and heifers sold 83 to 87. The cows sold at prices $2 to $3 higher. Thursday: The veal traded under pressure. The heavy lambs sold on a strong active trade with the balance of lambs selling steady to last week. Friday: All weights and class- es of stockers sold on a strong active trade with prices $1 to $2 higher. Steers There were 487 steers on offer. Enoch Martin, Linwood con- signed one blonde steer weigh- ing 1365 lbs which sold for 110.25. His overall offering of 24 steers averaged 1449 lbs selling for an average price of 99.03. Six steers consigned by Noah F. Bauman, Wallenstein aver- aged 1368 lbs which sold for an average price of 89.82 with his top two gold steers averaging 1298 lbs selling for 100.25. Veal Market stockers trading steady DENFIELD — The market at Denfield Livestock Sales traded on a good demand at prices $2 higher on all classes of fed cattle with the fancy cattle bringing premium prices. A good offering of cows traded steady; stockers steady; Holstein bull calves strong. Gord Hardy, Lucan sold seven steers average weight 1333 lbs., average price 89.05. Morley Hodgins, Parkhill sold 13 steers average weight 1392 lbs., average price 88.29. William Nolte, Dresden sold four head average weight 1251 lbs., average price 87.83. Glen Kirkland, Southhampton sold 50 heifers average weight 1183 lbs., average price 88.50, sales to 95 purchased by Norval Meats. Choice steers: 90-95; Good steers: 84-89; Plain steers: 60-70; Choice exotic cross heifers: 90-95; Good heifers: 82-86; Plain heifers: 60-70; Good fed cows: 35-45; D1 and D2 cows: 27-32; D3 and D4 cows: 20-25; Shells: 10-15; Good beef bulls: 30-45; Good Holstein bulls: 25-32; Stocker steers 650-750 lbs: 98-110; Good Holstein bull calves: 185-285.
