Awards handed out includ- ed most improved, top cadet and junior and senior esprit de corps.The annual tug of war competition was also held.Top photo from left are Master Cpl. If you or a family member does not have a family physician, the Huron County Family Health Team is beginning to register orphan patients. At this point in development the information requested includes: name, address, phone number, email address (if applicable), and date of birth. What is a Family Health Team? A Family Health Team is an approach to primary health care that brings together different health care providers to co-ordinate the highest possible quality of care for you — the patient. It will be designed to complement professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, and more. The Huron County Family Health Team has a mandate to make primary health care available to orphan patients. Why register early? This registration does not guarantee immediate service, but will create an orphan patient database for the implementation of the Huron County Family Health Team. Early registration is an excellent idea to help in the development and organization of a comprehensive health care program. The Granton Volunteer Firemen's pork chop bar- becue attracted a good crowd at the fire hall June 18. Entertainment and numerous draws followed. The proceeds were raised for fire equipment. Ross and Cathie Westman enjoyed a leisurely visit to Goderich on June 18. The Granton -Wesley UCW held their quarterly meeting at the church on Tuesday evening, June 14, commencing with refresh- ments served by Unit 2 members. They were also in charge of the program when the guest speaker was Mary Hooidonk from Grandpa's Garden and Landscaping on Highbury Avevue. She was intro- duced by Nancy Mills. Hooidonk talked about new varieties of plants and a question period followed. President Margaret Bryan opened with a read- ing, "Train Travel," and led the business which included final plans for the beef supper. Also dis- cussed were upcoming events, namely the Fun Day and Granton Home and Garden Tour. Each of the committees gave reports. Bryan closed the meeting with the UCW GRANTON NEWS Benediction. n. Granton -Wesley United Church on Father's Day Sun., June 19, Lay Pastor Val Hodgins led the service and the message was enti- tled "Who Will Tell the Story?". Welcomed into the fel- lowship of the congrega- tion through the Sacrament of Baptism were Amos Menno Azai POLICE BRIEFS Zurich theft ZURICH — On June 11 a theft was reported from a vehicle parked at the Bluewater Community Center on East Street. Police say a white 2005 Ford Explorer was target- ed. The pickup truck's box, unlocked, was opened and a complete set of Tommy Armour irons and woods, in a Wilson golf bag, were stolen. Thomas, son of Sean Thomas and Bernadine Kop; also Evan Garrett Blakeney, son of Steve and Jill Blakeney. The community yard sale is Sat., June 25. At St. Paul's Anglican Church, Kirkton on Sun., June 19, Rev. Dalice Sim celebrated the Holy Eucharist and the message was about taking God's love out into the world. Christine Downey assist- ed with the service and Rosemary Schaefer read the lessons.
