ELIMVILLE — Robin Hammond of Elimville and
her horse Lady will be competing against North
America and the world in July.
They will be travelling to Gillette, Wyoming, for the
National High School Rodeo Finals July 18-24.
Hammond is first in pole bending and second in
barrel racing on the Ontario High School Rodeo
Association circuit and has qualified as one of the top
five on the circuit to go to Wyoming.
She is also looking forward to the Canadian High
School Rodeo Finals in Medicine Hat, Alb, in August.
The Wyoming competition will be the biggest
Hammond has been at yet.
She has been practicing several hours a week with
Ed and Julie Dewetering of Credion to prepare.
The high school rodeo association awards scholar-
ships for rodeo.
Hammond said she will probably get a scholarship
to go to school in Red Deer, Alberta as a teachers
assistant.
Each point Hammond wins on the circuit earns
another $10 in scholarship money.
She also hopes to rodeo one day in Alberta with a
goal of turning professional and competing in the
Calgary Stampede.
She has also started breakaway racing as well as
goat tying, events which she saw and says "it was
something else to try."
Hammond has been raising money for the trip to
Wyoming with a car wash and a bake sale as well as
selling tickets on a raffle for a trailer.
For tickets or to help sponsor Hammond call 229-
8732 or 229-6738.
EXETER — A skeleton squad of
Exeter Express players participat-

over the two days, winning two and
barely lost the 'B' finals.
Jeff Erskine pitched a strong
game against Kendall, allowing
only four runs on four hits.
He struck out one Kendall batter.
Exeter allowed Kendall to score
first but came storming back with
three runs in the fifth inning
Kendall won the game with three
runs in the bottom of the seventh.
The top offensive producers were
Bobby Grant with a hit and two
walks, Vic Oliveira with two hits
and Terry Genttner with two hits.

inning and never trailed.

allowed four runs on seven hits and
was the winner.

in the sixth.

safely twice.
A tired 10 -man contingent played

the game, allowing four runs on
four hits.
Burlington rallied for four runs in

p.m.
They play in Strathroy on
Saturday at 1 p.m.
Bantams post 10-4 and 10-3 wins
EXETER — The Exeter
Bantam Rep team pound-

in the wins and is expect-
ing the team will do well
this year.
"The competition is all
beatable," said Boyle.
The Bantams rolled over
Parkhill 10-3 June 1.

were led by good pitching
from Sean Harrigan, Scott

against the London Kings
Saturday in the 10-4 victo-

a triple as well as Mike
Giles and Brandon Masse.
