Exeter Fury blanked 3-0
EXETER — The Exeter Fury have had
trouble playing in Woodstock over the
years and June 4 was no different.
The Fury were never in the contest los-
ing 3-0 in a game played under poor
field conditions.
Woodstock scored early in the first half
by walking through the Fury defence to
beat keeper Nathan Holmes for the 1-0
lead.
The home team quickly added another
on a breakaway to put the Fury in a hole
by halftime.
Exeter had trouble mounting any
offence and due to the uneven playing
field were unable to complete many
accurate passes.
Holmes kept Exeter in the game with
some excellent saves but it wasn't
enough.
Woodstock completed the scoring from
in close to make the final 3-0.
"We didn't play well at all today,"said
Fury spokesman Jason McFalls.
"The field was poor but both teams
had the same conditions. We just didn't
compete hard enough," added McFalls.
The next action for the Fury is Sunday
at 7 p.m. against Benfica at Exeter's
Community Field.
