The facility had its grand opening May 27 with a country tribute concert and the field will be open for competition in the next few days. The sports centre is owned by Brent Hillier. Pennington said while people think it is danger- ous, statistically paintball is safer than bowling and said "it's not like war" The reason the sport is safe, according to Pennington, is it is well supervised with several referees on the field at all times and a control tower overlooking the action. All equipment is checked before being used and all players get a safe- ty briefing before playing. The action will be open to spectators who are totally safe, said Pennington who added it is the fastest growing Members of Grand Cove Lawn Bowling Club (with guests from Exeter, Clinton, Goderich, Lucknow, Mitchell, Simcoe, Seaforth and Stratford), pose for an official photo during grand opening celebrations May 31. Spokesperson Dawn Robertson thanked supporters for making the dream of this new club become a reality. A special thank you was extended to David Rice who was unable to attend, due to illness.
