Strong trade, prices steady in Brussels
Brussels Livestock report for
the week ending May 20.
Total Receipts
3,221 head of cattle, 577
lambs and goats.
Summary
Tuesday: The fed steers and
heifers sold on a steady mar-
ket. Choice steers and heifers
sold 88 to 93 sales to 100, sec-
ond cut steers and heifers sold
83 to 87. The cows sold actively
at prices $2 to $3 higher.
Thursday: The veal sold on a
lower demand with easier
prices. The lambs sold actively
on a strong demand with prices
$5 to $10 higher.
Friday: All weights and class-
es of stockers sold at prices $2
higher.
Steers
There were 778 steers on
offer.
John B. Martin, Gadshill con-
signed eight blonde steers aver-
aging 1265 lbs which sold for
97.50. His overall offering of
eleven steers averaged 1288
lbs selling for an average price
Seventeen contestants
found themselves kissing
tractors during Huron

ket at Denfield Livestock
Sales traded on a good
demand at steady prices
on all classes of fed cattle
with fancy cattle selling at
premium prices. A good
offering of cows sold very
active with good cows
sharply higher. Holstein
bull calves sold very strong
at higher prices. Sows and
boars steady.
