EXETER — The 4-H
Beef -A -Rama club met on
May 16 at vice-president
Elisha Coleman's house.
President Robin McKnight
opened the meeting with
the 4-H pledge and the roll
call question: "What did
each member name their
project, if a name has
been selected?". Most
members announced their
selections, although some
are still considering.
Plaques presented
Leader Andrea Hern sur-
prised the group by pre-
senting all return 4-H
members with a plaque
showing their years in 4-
H. A big thank you goes
out to Agricorp for spon-
soring these beautiful
plaques.
Coleman then showed off
her calf, Bosely, and
Kirsten Allen's, Bubba,
who is also kept on the
Coleman's farm. McKnight
assisted Coleman in
demonstrating how to
groom a calf.
Christine O'Reilly helped
members learn how to tie
a quick -release knot. The
quick -release knot is used
to tie a calf. If the calf gets
into trouble, it is easy to
untie them and prevent
the animal from strangling
itself.
Special thanks goes out
to the Colemans for host-
ing the meeting, and pro-
viding the delicious cup-
cakes. Members are
reminded to complete
their calf progress reports
for the month of May
which are to be handed in
at the next meeting.
