The deadline has been extended to June 6, with the contest open to all high school students. Five cash prizes (ranging from $100 to $500) are avail- able. This is an opportunity for all enterprising stu- dents. Students do not have to actively develop the busi- ness, they simply need to prepare and submit a for- mal business plan. The plans can be developed as partnerships or sole pro- prietorships. Information is available about developing a busi- ness plan from Huron County business consul- tant Alison Lobb at (519) 527-0305. A panel of community partners will review the submissions and deter- mine the award winners in mid-June. The awards banquet for the participants, their parents, teachers and supporters will be held in the fall. Partners in the event, along with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, are the Huron Business Development Corporation, the County of Huron and several local firms.
