Cooper memorial concert in Crediton CREDITON — Local country music fans will have the chance to pay tribute to a legendary entertainer this weekend at the Crediton Community Centre. A wide variety of singers will play in a memorial to E.J. Cooper, who was best known for his Willie Nelson impersonation show. Cooper died Oct. 10 in Oshawa from prostrate cancer. Known in Canada and the USA as the premier Willie Nelson imperson- ator, Cooper was given the exclusive rights to portray Nelson in Canada. The `Tribute to Country Legends' show will fea- ture the music of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Jim Reeves, Eddie Arnold, Allan Jackson and Toby Keith. Performing in the show will be Bob Gill as Jennings, Scott Daniels, Gary Boyle and Randy Kay as Cash. The show is being put on by M.C. Ralph (Rocky) McComb and goes from 7 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $8 per per- son or $14 per couple.
