IT IS FUN TO HAVE AN ELEGANT LOOKING DESSERT FOR EASTER THAT IS SIMPLE TO MAKE BUT OH SO RICH, THAT YOUR GUESTS ONLY NEED TO EAT A SMALL PIECE TO BE y}� SATISFIED. THE FOLLOWING PECAN TORTE RECIPE WAS TAKEN Kr FROM ONE OF THOSE MINI RECIPE BOOKS YOU GET IN THE :{ MAGAZINES. BE SURE TO USE THOSE RECIPE BOOKS THEY ARE OFTEN NO FAIL AND EASY, GOOD TASTING AND UNIQUE! I'VE MADE THIS RECIPE ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS AND 1 REALLY ENJOY ITS DEEP CHOCOLATE FLAVOR. HAVE A GOOD C. HOLIDAY TIME WITH FAMILY. CHOCOLATE PECAN TORTE 2 eggs 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup each of white and brown sugar 1 cup melted butter (cooled to room temp) ▪ 2 cups semi -sweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped pecans 3 semi -sweet chocolate squares melted for drizzle Beat eggs with mixer till foamy and lemon colored. Add flour and sugars and beat till well blended. Stir in melted butter and fold in chipits and pecans. Pour into well -greased and floured 9 inch pie plate and bake at 325 F. for I hour. Cool to :• room temperature. Release from pie plate with a knife and place upside down on large serving platter. Drizzle melted chocolate over torte and onto edges of platter. They are President Anna Marie Cook; Past President Joan Agnew; President- elect Wendy Meidinger; Co - treasurers Cathy Musser and Brenda Winters; Corresponding sec- retary Mary Pavjeke; Recording secretary Jacqueline Hanson. Darlene Geoffrey and Denise Morgan will co- chair the annual penny sale Wed., Nov. 2 at the church hall. There will be five prizes on the tickets. The shut- ins will have mini - roses for Easter. The Stratford CWL Fun Night is Wed., April 6. Remember a toonie, potluck dish, dishes and cutlery. Cook and Meidinger will attend the Sarnia convention April 26 and 27. The Oct. 26 Huron Perth W0/4 O, Deanery meet- ing will be host- 00 UO ed by Our Lady of Mount Carmel CWL and Precious Blood CWL in Exeter. Everyone enjoyed the informative speaker Jean Bennett. She enlightened everyone about `Sleeping Children Around the World'. Mariette Bilcke's group is in charge of the April 12 meeting. Billing himself "The Pet Food Guy," Schofield is the local distributor for Riplees Ranch Super Premium Pet Food, an all -natural pet food containing no chemi- cal preservatives, food colouring or artificial ingredients. Schofield offers three dog formulas — a Gold Label New Zealand lamb and rice formula, a chicken and corn formula and a chicken and rice formula for seniors. Ingredients such as Omega 3 and 6 help improve the animal's coat and eyes. Zinc proteinate in the food also helps with the skin and coat and helps reduce hair loss.
