LUCAN — The Lucan Irish will be taking on the
West Lorne Lakers tonight in game five of the Yeck
Conference semifinals.
The Lakers were leading the series 2-1 with game
four played Tuesday night in West Lorne, after the
T -A went to press.
After opening the series with a 6-5 win in double
overtime March 9 in Lucan, the Lakers took a 2-0
lead in the series March 11 in West Lorne with a 7-
1 pounding of the Irish.
But Lucan rebounded Sunday in Lucan with a 5-2
win to cut the series to 2-1.
Kyle Smith had a pair of goals for Lucan, with sin-
gles from Bob Martin, Tyson DeJong and Mark
Read.
Getting assists were Read, Trevor Medeiros, Bill
Wright, Joe Dobbie, Matt Blane, Aaron Whitcomb
and Mike Jacques.
In other series, Mitchell and Mt. Brydges are tied
at one game apiece, Hagersville leads Port Dover 2-
0 and Delhi is up 1-0 on Tavistock with the teams
playing Monday night.
The Irish and West Lorne will resume their series
with game six March 17 in West Lorne at 8:15 p.m.
Game seven if necessary will be in Lucan March
20 at 7:45 p.m.
