Ducktails & Bobby Sox at Huron Centennial March meeting in Mitchell

VARNA — Church ser-
vice was in Varna on
Sunday with Pastor Elly
Van Bergen with the
Welcome and
Announcements followed
by the Call to Worship.
Linda and Steve Keys lit
the Christ Candle.
Congregational best wish-
es were extended to
Linda and Steve in honour
of their 29th wedding
anniversary March 12.
Pastor Van Bergen's
children's story was
"Jesus Cried." The gift of
music by the choir was
"Anywhere With Jesus."
Pastor Van Bergen's mes-
sage was entitled "I
Believe, Help My
Unbelief."
Church Sun., March
20—officially the first day
of spring—is in Goshen.
Maundy Thursday March
24 there will be a service
in Goshen church at 8
p.m.
This Thurs., March 17
the second annual potluck
St. Patrick's Day dinner
for the Varna community
will be held at the Varna
church at 6 p.m. Bring
your favourite dish, wear
green and visit with your
neighbours.
Pastoral Care
Mon., March 21 there
will be a Presbytery
Pastoral Care and
Oversight Committee visit
in the Varna church with
a potluck supper to begin
at 6 p.m. Varna and
Goshen members are
invited. A board meeting
will follow at 8 p.m.

SOUR CREAM SALAD
I cup mandarin oranges drained
I cup pineapple tidbits drained
I cup coconut
I cup sour cream
I cup seedless grapes halved
I cup colored or white marshmallows
Mix all ingredients together and mix well. Let chill for at least
2 hours or overnight. Stir before serving. WOW!

Crokinole Club
The Varna Crokinole
Club met last Tuesday for
singles play and top four
in the A Division were Joe
Fulop 62, Abe Leitch 61,
Conrad Sitter 60, and Bob
Russell with 43 points.
Top four in B Division
were Margaret Hayter
with 56, Murray Perdue
54, Joan Beierling 45 and
Ralph Stephenson with 44
points. The club will meet
Tues., March 22 for their
last night of crokinole.
They will then meet
April 12 at the White
Carnation for dinner to
wrap the season up. A few
of the players will be com-
peting in the St. Jacobs
tournament on April 2
and a team will be sent to
the Joseph Scnieder
Hause on April 16.

Davis attended the coun-
cil meeting of the
Anglican Church Women
of the Diocese of Huron
held at Huron Church
House with Rev. Jerri
Adams, director of
Huron Church Camp as
guest speaker.
Rev. Adams
invited every-
one to attend
the dedication service
Sat., July 30 at 10:30
a.m. (with Bishop Bob
Bennett) of the new
campfire circle with
newly -erected cross
which will be the out-
door chapel this summer
at the camp.
For more details, call
the camp after July 1. It
will be a marvellous
experience gathering
around the stone table
and flickering campfire
in this circle of faith and
fellowship in Christ's
name.
Following the meeting
the women attended the
noon -hour Lenten ser-
vice at St. Paul's
Cathedral with guest
speaker, the Reverend
Sheldon Dyck of First
Baptist Church in
London (theme: A
Servant God, A Servant
Church, Me A Servant?).
Lunch followed in
Cronyn Hall.
St. Patrick's held their
evening prayer service,
fifth Sunday of Lent with
MacGillivray and Davis
families looking after the
service.
Prayers were said
remembering Bishop
Bruce Howe who is still
not feeling well. Our
sympathy goes out to the
family of the late Bishop
Derwyn Jones who was
buried

Friday
from St. Paul's
Cathedral.
Katie -Scarlett
MacGillivray shared a
heartwarming story that
happened to her at her
employment at
Kingsmills on Saturday.
An elderly customer
shared her loss of a fam-
ily member and hugged
