Missionary Society presents slate of officers

ST. MARYS - St. Marys was in charge of regis-
tration for the postponed annual meeting of
Huron -Perth Women's Missionary Society (WMS).
The group was welcomed to Avonton
Presbyterian Church by Jean Aitcheson. The pro-
gram began with the Call to Worship and the
WMS Purpose.
Ina McMillan presided for the meeting and
announced the spring rally on May 18 and the
Synodical to be held in Woodstock April 19 and
April 20.
The Literature Secretary, Lois Horne recom-
mended several books available from the
Bookroom in Toronto.
Nancy Schneider read the minutes of the last
annual meeting. The roll call was answered with
a plan your group has for mission in 2005.
Rev. Gwen Brown, assisted by the new Kintail
Camp Director Graham Gould, showed a video
update of the camp's improvements and future
plans.
A report from the WMS Council in Toronto was
given by Margaret McGillvray, president of coun-
cil. McGillvray, Goderich has been invited to
attend a conference in the Korean Church in
Japan.
Following lunch devotions were given by Nancy
Schneider and Vola Purcell, Listowel.
Mary Scott introduced the guest speaker, audi-
ologist Susan Schlacht, Stratford who described
her experiences when she went with a group to
El Salvador to fit children with hearing aids.
Elizabeth Stewart, Sally Scott and Jean Peebles,
Monkton presented the In Memorium.
The offering was received and dedicated by
Jeannie Ballantyne, Atwood.
Jean Aitcheson, who is leaving for Guatemala
with a group of Friends of the Orphanage,

is currently Vice Chair of
the South Huron Hospital
Association Board.

Manager of Farm Mutual
Financial Services (Exeter
Branch).
JUNE HODGSON
June was born in
Woodham. She
attended school in
Woodham, Winchester
and Exeter.
Since moving from
Stratford, she has
looked after senior
activities and senior
games for several years.
She also is a church
volunteer. June is
Secretary of the South
Huron Hospital Auxiliary.
She is a member of the
Quality, Risk & Utilization
Committee of the Board.
June lives in Exeter
with her husband Ray.

Janet Gibson presided for the 2004 reports
which were given by Yvonne Knight, Lois Horne,
Lillian Sparling, Mary Scott, Ruth Laing and
Helen Dunseith, and Janet Gibson for Laurine
McIntosh.
The slate of officers was presented by Lois
Horne and installed by Jean Edmunds, Mitchell.
