March is busy for Wheel 'N' Dealers
By Wilma Higgins
CLINTON — The Clinton Wheel 'N'
Dealers have had a very good month of
dancing. Claude and Fran Pelletier from
the Checkmates Club, Kitchener did the
duties when Les was away.
The class of 2004 and our beginners
class of 14 are being introduced to dif-
ferent callers. The club welcomes new
dancers.
The Valentine dance was well attend-
ed with many cupids, balloons and love
songs by Les. All the dance records are
quite enjoyable and keep everyone mov-
ing.
Member Dave Pugh gave us a glimpse
of his mission trip to Guatemala. Vice
president Jack and Marianna Ryan are
on duty while president James is off to
the sunny south.
Geoff Edwards is accepting donations
for Dance for Heart. Rosemarie is
missed and everyone hopes she is soon
back dancing. Welcome back Ross and
Marion Leakey.
March events
March 2 and March 9: caller Claude
and Fran Pelletier. March 16: St.
Patrick's dance; Lorne and Cecille
Lockrey, the wearing of the green and
Danny Boy. March 23: take note, there
is no dance at Clinton Public School but
everyone will visit another club that
week and make it a banner holiday.
March 30 Les and Shirley will be home
from a group trip to Arizona. The season
is winding down.
Shaw being roasted
EXETER — Long-time Exeter resi-
dent Bruce Shaw, a former mayor
and past principal in several county
high schools, has consented to a
public roasting.
"The reason I have agreed to
besmirch myself in this manner is
because the event is for a very good
cause and it will be a lot of fun!"
says Shaw.
The roast takes place Tues., May
17 at 6 p.m. in the South Huron Rec
Centre in Exeter. Expect an evening
of hilarity. All proceeds will go to
the Huron United Way and its fund-
ed agencies. Tickets are $50 each
and are available by calling 524-
7900.
According to executive director
Kimberley Payne, "Bruce has been a
terrific sport about all of this and
under the direction of personable
Roastmaster Bill Brady and some of
Bruce's friends and acquaintances,
who will roast him unmercifully,
you will hear many sordid details
about the life of this interesting
guy!"
Come on out for an evening of
guaranteed laughs and help Bruce
support the Huron United Way.
The Huron United Way is a local
non-profit agency investing in
Huron County through its 12 funded
agencies. For more information,
please contact the Huron United
Way at 519-524-7900 or e-mail

PET ADOPTION BULLETIN
Huron OSPCA Ontario Humane Society)
Custard is an adorable light orange tabby.
She is female, semi longhaired and is
approximately 1 year old. Custard came from
a multi cat household that simply had too
many cats to care for properly. She is a
lovely, gentle thing who seems to prefer a
quieter atmosphere. She is a little lady that
would like to be pampered. Custard will be
spayed before going to her new home.
