T -A welcomes new reporter Starting a new job can be a positive challenge and at the same time, intimidating. As the new kid on the block, here at the Times -Advocate, I feel energized, excited and just a little anxious. Why? It's very simple. I am taking a leap from broadcast journlism to print journalism. Since 1990 I have worked in both radio and television newsrooms, most recent- ly at The New PL as the Weekend News anchor/reporter. Now I have the opportunity to continue my journalism career by going down a different path. It will be a tremendous learning Mandziuk experi- ence and I really look forward t o work- ing with t h e great team at the T -A. Oh, there is something else. It is going to be a pleasure to have the time and space to really tell the stories that matter to you, our readers. In broadcasting you always hear, "keep it short." In print, there's more room and opportu- nity to give detailed infor- mation. I welcome your story ideas and news tips. At the same time, I would really like to hear about people living in our community. Do you know someone who goes out of their way to help others? Does your neigh- bour have an interesting hobby or bizarre collec- tion? Is there someone who deserves recognition for an outstanding achievement?
