Queensway plaque presentation
The Alzheimer Society of Huron County presented a plaque honouring Queensway
Nursing and Retirement Home as the recipient of their first Corporate Challenge
Award Feb. 3 in Hensall. Cathy Ritsema, executive director of the society said the
award was the result of hard work and dedication of the staff, volunteers and resi-
dents of Queensway Nursing and Retirement Home who raised $1,220 for the 10th
Annual Walk for Memories held Jan. 22 throughout the county. Queensway also
donated $300 as a corporate sponsor."Queensway Nursing and Retirement Home
is honoured to win the Corporate Challenge for the 10th Annual Walk for
Memories. We choose to support the Huron County Alzheimer Society because of
the wonderful direct service they provide to Alzheimer Clients and their caregivers."
said director of programs Carol Gascho. Assistant director of care Cathy McClure
said,"We have accessed their expertise for staff education and are looking forward
to hosting their Caring with Confidence series in March" Back L -R: Gascho and

Be suspicious
HURON — uron OPP have received a
few calls from businesses in the county
over suspicious people entering their busi-
nesses.
The officers learned that two people have
entered these stores and asked to use the
washroom. The person would be taken to
the washroom area while the other was
loose inside the store. The officers have
identified these men as being known to
commit property crimes.
The men would have been checking the
facilities for alarms, video surveillance
equipment and the property inside along
with the quantity.
Some others have asked to use the tele-
phone, which in most cases is back in the
office area of the store. Officers are warn-
ing business owners that all strange people
wanting to use things in your store or peo-
ple seen parked outside watching your
store may be gathering information to
break-in into your business at a later date.
Please take down the information of the
type of vehicle and the license plate num-
ber, with a description of the people you
see. Call the Huron OPP with this informa-
tion.
Working together we can stop some of
these break-ins.

The officer was also
running a radar detector
detector when the speed
in the vehicle quickly
slowed. The officer
stopped the vehicle and
after some discussion
with the driver a mea-
surement -warning device

SINCE MY KIDS HAVE BEEN VERY YOUNG THEY HAVE ALWAYS
PREFERRED BANANA CHOCOLATE CHIP MUFFINS! IT MIGHT
HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH ME RARELY MAKING OTHER
KINDS. I HAVE FOUND THAT IN A RECIPE FOR MUFFINS IT
DOESN'T HURT TO ADD EXTRA FRUIT AND YOU END UP
WITH A VERY MOIST MUFFIN. THE FOLLOWING RECIPE IS A
NO FAIL GREAT MUFFIN AND I HOPE YOU GIVE IT A TRY.
BANANA MUFFINS
1 3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 /4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup margarine
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup sour cream
1 cup mashed bananas (3 or 4)
1-2 cups chocolate chips
Put flour, soda and salt in large bowl and stir. Cream
margarine, sugars and egg. Add in sour cream and bananas
and when well mixed pour into flour and stir to mix. Add
chocolate chips. Don't over stir. Fill greased muffin tins about
3/4 full. Bake in 400 deg. F oven for 20 minutes. Enjoy with
a glass of milk. WOW!
