Queensway to host Valentine's party
HENSALL — Fun and Fitness started
the week off at Queensway Monday
morning with a good `range of motion'
workout to get all the joints moving.
The goal is to maintain and where pos-
sible, increase flexibility.
The auxiliary meeting was held
Tuesday morning with volunteers pre-
sent to discuss upcoming February
events and also who is able to assist
and when. Volunteers are absolutely
essential to the quality and quantity of
programs offered at the home.
The Rev. Don Alcock of Bayfield
Anglican Church led worship Tuesday
afternoon with Belva Fuss as volunteer
organist. Residents voiced appreciation
for Rev. Alcock's message and Fuss'
beautiful organ playing.
Volunteer Marg Cole organized
euchre Wednesday afternoon and a
few residents also enjoyed playing
crokinole.
Later in the afternoon Julie Keagan,
social worker, facilitated the monthly
family council meeting. Queensway
family council meets at 3:30 p.m. the
first Wednesday of each month with
family and friends of residents wel-
come to attend.
Mostly local news was discussed at
the Thursday morning Coffee and
Current Events program. In the after-
noon residents gathered to bake
cheese scones. The scent of fresh bak-
ing drew a few taste testers to the bak-
ing room to offer their expertise.
Friday evening Jim Love, singer/gui-
tarist, Lois Hodgins, fiddler, and Phyllis
Deichert, pianist made beautiful music
in the retirement home lounge.
Everyone at Queensway offered their
