girls hockey team remains
tied with St. Annes after
splitting their last four
games with a 6-3 loss in
St. Armes Jan. 13, 6-4 and
10-0 wins Jan. 17 and a 2-
1 loss against Madill Jan.
20 in Exeter.
The Panthers had a 3-2
lead going into the third
period Jan. 13 versus St.
Armes on goals by Jessica
Bickell, Katie Stewart and
Emily Sararas, but the
lead didn't hold up.
St. Annes fired four
straight in the final period
to take the 6-3 win.
Getting assists in the loss
were Kristin Hefley,
Sararas, Kristen Ferguson
and Stewart.
The Panther rebounded
Jan. 17 with a pair of wins
in Clinton in a great day of
hockey according to coach
Heather Strano who said
the Panthers played well
with great passing and

effort.
South Huron started
with a 6-4 win over
Central Huron Secondary
School before crushing
GDCI 10-0.
The Panthers scored
early and often getting a
pair each from Sararas,
Anne Gregus and Bickell
and singles from Stewart,
Michelle Weber, Magen
Overholt and Shelby
Musser.
Brittany Schroeder had a
pair of assists with singles
to Jenna Phillips, Musser,
Kelly Cronyn, Bickell and
Kelsey O'Rourke.
The Panthers were at
home Jan. 20 and despite
hitting posts and cross-
bars, the Panthers couldn't
buy a goal until late in the
game.
The Panthers got on the
board with a 1:21 left in
the game with a goal from
Sararas but it was all they
could get in a 2-1 loss.
