The Panthers had a 3-2 lead going into the third period Jan. 13 versus St. Armes on goals by Jessica Bickell, Katie Stewart and Emily Sararas, but the lead didn't hold up. St. Annes fired four straight in the final period to take the 6-3 win. Getting assists in the loss were Kristin Hefley, Sararas, Kristen Ferguson and Stewart. The Panther rebounded Jan. 17 with a pair of wins in Clinton in a great day of hockey according to coach Heather Strano who said the Panthers played well with great passing and L effort. South Huron started with a 6-4 win over Central Huron Secondary School before crushing GDCI 10-0. The Panthers scored early and often getting a pair each from Sararas, Anne Gregus and Bickell and singles from Stewart, Michelle Weber, Magen Overholt and Shelby Musser. Brittany Schroeder had a pair of assists with singles to Jenna Phillips, Musser, Kelly Cronyn, Bickell and Kelsey O'Rourke. The Panthers were at home Jan. 20 and despite hitting posts and cross- bars, the Panthers couldn't buy a goal until late in the game. The Panthers got on the board with a 1:21 left in the game with a goal from Sararas but it was all they could get in a 2-1 loss.
