Walking hours are every Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from now until March. Come out and visit the Steckle family and see all the love- ly plants at the same time. Little Tyler Randall Raymond McKinnon, son of Wayne and Anita, was baptized at St. Boniface Church recently. Also Haillee Madison Brown, daughter of Wes and Amy was baptized last week- end. Three of the synchro- nized skating teams from Exeter travelled to Leamington last weekend to a competition. Come out and see them skate Sun., Feb. 6 from 6 to 7 p.m. Their next competition will be in Peterborough Feb. 11 to 13. Congratulations to Missy and Jason on the arrival of their baby girl, Emily Kotori Gingerich, who was born on Jan. 27 in Cambridge. She is the granddaughter of Paul Gingerich of Zurich. There will be a pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday, Feb. 8 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church from 5 to 7 p.m. Nancy Ducharme of Zurich and a girlfriend, Carol Miller of Windsor, recently spent 10 days in Florida. They visited with Sue and Paul Corriveau of Goderich who are vaca- tioning in Florida. Rick and Michelle Smith and little Matthew recently spent two weeks in Red Deer, Alberta visiting with his brother, Larry and Karen Smith and their two girls. Damion and Janet Willert and son Ashton have moved from town into the country at the end of the Goshen, South. Ina Neeb has moved from the Maple Woods Apartments to the Blue Water Rest Home. Marguerite Johnston has returned to her apartment at Maple Woods from her recuperating stay at Queensway Nursing Home in Hensall. Happy birthday Happy 89th birthday wishes to Olivia Bedard of Maple Woods Apartments on Sun., Jan. 30. John and Diane Wilds have moved into their newly - built home in Exeter. The next Lions Club din- ner/meeting will be held at Erb's Country Kitchen Wed., Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. Men and women are welcome to join them. Call 236- 7211. Valentine's activities Tickets for the Valentine's dance at the Dashwood Community Centre Fri., Feb. 11 are available from Glenn at 234-6749 or Mike 238- 1228. There will be a family Valentine's skating night at the Zurich Complex sponsored by St. Boniface School on Fri., Feb. 11 from 7 to 8 p.m. The cost is $5 a family which includes free hot chocolate and popcorn. Everyone is welcome. The Zurich Golden Agers will be having their next meeting at the Hay Township Hall on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14 at 12 noon. Bring along a sandwich for lunch and the committee in charge will supply dessert and beverage. The Goshenaires will be enter- taining. Tyler Markham, son of Bud and Linda Markham of RR 2, Zurich had a big weekend Jan. 28 to 30. Tyler played in the Sledge Hockey Tournament held in London at the Western Fair Rink. Another boy from Hensall played with Tyler on the Windsor Ice Bullets team. The Zurich Cubs along with their leaders and some parents and other area cubs had a winter camp on Saturday and Sunday at St. Boniface School. They slept in the gym in sleeping bags. It was a lovely sunny weekend so they enjoyed various activ- ities outdoors in the snow, as well as games indoors. The Beavers have been painting and crafting at their meeting on Wednesday evenings at the Zurich Public School. At their Feb. 2 meeting, they will be learning farm safety activities and Feb. 9 ZURICH NEWS Liquor violations SOUTH HURON — On Jan. 20 at 10 p.m., an officer was using radar on London Road in South Huron when a vehicle was spotted traveling at a high speed. The officer stopped the silver 2001 Pontiac Grand Am to find four people inside the vehicle. The driver was found with alcohol on his breath and was given the roadside test. The 20 -year-old male from Middlesex blew a warning, resulting in the loss of his driver's license for the next 12 hours. He was also charged with the speeding offence of being over 30 krn/h over the speed limit. The officer also found open alcohol in the vehicle, resulting in an 18 -year-old male from Stratford being charged with a liquor violation along with a 19 -year-old male from Middlesex. is a tractor puzzle craft and game night. Skating at the Complex Children from St. Boniface and Zurich Public School have been taking turns ice skating at the Zurich Complex along with the help of some parents and teachers. They must wear helmets on the ice. Keep saving your Campbell Soup labels for the school. The French Club at St. Boniface will be selling flowers for Valentine's Day. The United Church in Zurich are having muffin time and coffee in their hall downstairs every Tuesday morning 10 to 11 a.m. during the winter months. Men and women are welcome. The South Huron Hospital Foundation's Christmas draw raised $3,600 for front entrance renovations to the hospital.
