Everyone sang the Introit and shook hands. Williams gave the wel- come and the announce- ments and led in the Call to Worship and the Gathering Prayer in uni- son. The hymn, 'God Reveal Your Presence' was sung. The Affirmation of Faith was read in unison. The Children's hymn, 'Come Now 0 God of Peace' was sung. Justine Anderson lit the Christ Candle. Williams gave the chil- dren a necklace that had a paper frog on it so they could put their name on it so he would get to know them. He had a lot of tools he showed the children that were needed to make a carpenter's shop and a pulpit. The choir sang, `Bonds of Love', and Sharon Lynn read a verse of the song. They were accompanied by organist Marilyn Vandenbussche. Psalm 27 was read responsively. Williams read 1 Corinthians 1:10- 18. The title of his sermon was `Unity but not Uniformity'. The hymn, `In Christ There Is No East'. Joan Anderson and Ruth Anne Osgood received the offer- ing. The closing hymn was `Through Ancient Walls'. Williams gave the Commissioning and pro- nounced the Benediction. 'May The God of Hope Go With Us' was sung. Announcements Dave Williams, who is a licensed lay worship leader, will be conducting our Sunday services. Williams will be available Tuesday mornings in the office (235-2803) from 9:30 a.m. to noon or in case of an emergency at 229-8200, at Willy@Quadro.net. or Larry Lynn at 229-8276. Contact Helen Weston, Outreach Committee at 229-6281 for someone in hospital, ill at home, etc. Feb. 6: Annual meeting. Following the church ser- vice there will be a lun- cheon supplied by the Finance Committee (free- will donation) and the annual meeting will com- mence at 1 p.m. Meetings this Sunday By Muriel Lewis GRANTON CORRESPONDENT GRANTON — A number of people braved the weather and attended the potluck sup- per hosted by the Granton - Wesley Youth Group at the church Jan. 22. Euchre and other games were later enjoyed. At the Granton -Wesley United Church Jan. 23, Lay Pastor Val Hodgins entitled the message `Jesus Calls.' The lessons were from Isaiah 9, 1 Corinthians 1 and Matthew 4. Emily Young lit the Christ Candle. The coffee and muffin socials continue on Thurs., Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. until Feb. 3. Lunch and the annual meeting will be held after the service Sun., Jan. 30. Granton -Wesley congre- gation extends get well wishes to Don Benner who is convalescing at home following heart surgeries, and also to Ron Squire in Victoria Hospital, (Commissioners Road GRANT Campus), London. St. Paul's Anglican At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton Jan. 23, Christine Downey led the service of Morning Prayer a n d Tammy Hawkins read the lessons. The mes- sage was that unity and harmony bring peace and joy. The annual vestry meet- ing is scheduled for Sun., Jan. 30 (following the 9:15 a.m. service) commencing with a potluck lunch.
