THE FOLLOWING DESSERT IS ONE I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS
TIMES FOR A COMFORTING HOMEY KIND OF DESSERT! IT 15
GREAT WITH FROZEN RHUBARB BUT YOU CAN SUBSTITUTE
OTHER BERRIES IF YOU LIKE, JUST KEEP THE QUANTITY OF
FRUIT THE SAME. I WORKED IN A CAMP KITCHEN FOR A
COUPLE OF SUMMERS AND THIS WAS ONE OF THE RECIPES I
GOT FROM THERE. LOTS OF GOOD MEMORIES COME FROM
THOSE DAYS AS THE VEGGIES' GIRL!
RHUBARB CRUNCH
Mix till crumbly:
I cup flour
3/4 cup oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
Press half of crumbs in a greased 9 inch square pan.

following: I cup sugar, 2 tbsp. cornstarch 3/4 cup water, I
tsp. vanilla. Cook till thick and clear. Pour over rhubarb. Top
with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 deg. for I hour, till
bubbly and nicely browned. Serve up with a small scoop of ice
cream. Wow!

ment's declaration of

coming home with visible
reminders of the cost of
battle.

tributed this production,
