HENSALL — The
Hensall Sherwoods and
Lucan Ilderton Jets locked
horns Sunday night in
Hensall before a packed
house with the Sherwoods
coming away with a come
from behind 3-2 win.
The Jets were coming
off a 4-2 win in Clinton
while the Sherwoods were
edged 7-5 in Palmerston
Friday night.
Lucan Ilderton took a 1-
0 lead in the first period
on a goal by Brady
Kjeldgaard but the
Sherwoods replied in the
second with three goals to
take a 3-1 lead.
The Jets cut the lead to
one with a goal from
Andy Marshall but it was
all they could get, despite
pulling their goalie and
scoring what they thought
was the tying goal, but
which was disallowed.
The win for Hensall
leaves them tied with the
Jets with 30 points for
second place.

Shootout loss for Panthers
LONDON — The
Panther girls hockey
team made it to the `B'
final of the London
Aquinas tournament
before Christmas but lost
a hard fought game 3-2
game to Medway in a
shootout.
Panthers coach
Ileather Strano said the
team was playing in a
higher division than nor-
mal which was
AAA/AAAA but did well
and played the best they
have played all year.
She added if the
Panthers continue to
play as well all season,
they will have a very
successful season.
The Panthers opened
the tournament with a 4-
1 loss to St. Thomas
Aquinas,with their lone
goal coming from Emily
Sararas.
But South Huron
rebounded in their next
game and blanked
Assumption by a 5-0
score on two goals each
from Katie Stewart and
Kristin Ferguson and
one from Sararas.
The Panthers faced off
against Philip Pocock
school next and came
away with a hard fought
4-3 win on goals from
Leanne Cronyn,
Ferguson, Kelly Cronyn
and Stewart.
Facing St. Benedicts,
the Panthers were tied
1-1 after regulation time
before South Huron won
on a shootout to advance
to the 'B' final.
But after again being
tied 1-1 after regulation,
the Panthers went to
their second shootout of
the tournament but
came up just short in a
3-2 loss.
