Lucan Irish win 5-2 over Hawks
By Pat Bolen
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
EXETER — The Exeter
Hawks were in Lucan
Dec. 22 trying to gain
some ground on the Irish
but came out on the short
end of a 5-2 score.
The win gives the Irish
a 20-6-1-0 record for 41
points to keep them in a
tie with Delhi for first
overall in the league.
The Hawks have a 14-9-
2-1 record for 33 points.
Lucan took a 2-O lead in
the first period on goals
from Mark Read and Matt
Blane before the teams
exchanged goals in the
second period for a 3-1
Lucan lead.
Tyler French found the
net for Lucan and Jason
Stuckless replied for the
Hawks.
After being unable to
get any chances on a
power play early in the
third period, the Hawks
took advantage of anoth-
er man advantage later hi
the period to get within
one goal as Stuckless
scooped in a loose puck.
But the Irish replied just
seconds later.
Kyle Smith took a pass
from the corner and
snapped a shot past
Exeter goalie Cam Becker
before Aaron Whitcomb
put the game away with
an empty net marker in
the last minute.
Both teams have only
one game this week with (Wednesday) at 8:30 p.m. against Lambeth at 7:45
Exeter in Mitchell tonight Lucan will be at home p.m.
