One Christmas morn-
ing my sister Lauren
and me were looking
in our stockings and
when we looked
down we saw a red
piece of material on
our fireplace door.
We picked it up and
it felt so soft. My sis-
ter said it must have
come off of Santa's
suit. So now on every
Christmas morning
we look at the fire-
place.

My first Christmas I
remember playing in
the snow. The next
Christmas I put the
angel on top of the
tree. We open one
present on Christmas
Eve. We take pre-
sents to our friends
and neighbours. We
watch Christmas
movies and sing
Christmas carols.

My favorite
Christmas is when
Amy, Rob, Emily
and Hailey came
from Barrie for
Christmas and a
sleepover. We
played boardgames
and played in the
snow. We made
forts and had fun
sliding down the
slide and landing in
soft snow at the
bottom. We ate
turkey and had a
delicious meal for
supper.
The next day we
jumped on Amy and
Rob's and Mom and
Dad's beds to wake
them up. I let Emily
do my hair and we
played restaurant
in the basement.
Every year we have
a great Christmas!

My favourite
Christmas memory is
when my brother dis-
appointedly opened a
Christmas gift.
Last year at
Christmas, when we
opened our presents,
my mom gave my
brother Kay a present
to open. My brother
was excited to open it.
He started to unwrap
the present when his
mouth dropped. On
my Christmas list I
wrote "new school
supplies." Then guess
what? My mom for-
got to write the name
on the present. The
present looked like
one of the ones he was
supposed to get. So
my mom got mixed
up. The present my
mom gave my brother
was really my new
school supplies. My
mom was about to
take a picture when
we all started laugh-
ing. Everyone except
for my brother. That
was my favourite
Christmas memory!

On December 24,
2003, my family and
I spent our
Christmas Eve at my
Grandmother's
house. My Uncle
Mike had come out
of remission in
November and he
was battling
Leukemia for the
2nd time and had
been in the hospital
until Christmas Eve.
As I was enjoying a
wonderful meal as
always and enjoying
the company of all
my cousins - I got
the best present. My
Uncle Mike was
allowed to come
home for a few days.
He wasn't feeling
well from all of the
medication that was
injected into his
body - but that did-
n't stop him from
smiling and visiting
all of us. My family
and I all sat around
in my Grandma's
family room and
spent some quality
time with my Uncle
Mike. After awhile,
my Uncle Mike
became very tired
and started to feel
really sick so my
Aunt Kristyn took
him home.
After that, I didn't
get the chance to see
him again. Uncle
Mike lost his battle
with Leukemia and
passed away in
Victoria Hospital in
February 2004.
Having my Uncle
Mike home for
Christmas last year -
was the best
Christmas present
and memory ever.
Christmas 2003 will
always be close to
my heart.
My Uncle Mike was
awesome and I miss
him a lot. I am very
thankful we had the
opportunity to spend
time together last
Christmas. This
year I will think of
him and remember
how much I loved

To me the most
heart warming
Christmas memory
is the Glavin
Christmas. Every
year around
Christmas, we rent
the Crediton Hall
and my mom's entire
side of the family
gets together. My
mom's side of the
family is huge! This
is because my great -
grandma had 16
children, so one
night we all get
together and have a
potluck. It's always
delicious, thanks to
everyone bringing a
dish of their own.
Once all the tummies
are full, Santa
arrives to hand out
the presents.
Everyone gets a turn
to sit on Santa's
knee to receive their
gift. An hour later,
the floors are car-
peted with wrapping
paper, plastic and
other debris from all
the presents.
This is a great time
to get to know all
the aunts, uncles,
cousins, and other
relatives that you
never knew you had,
along with the ones
you did know you
had. A donation is
taken up, and all the
proceeds go to the
needy. Altogether
there are over 100 of
us, so we always col-
lect a lot of money
for them. After all
the excitement is
over, nearly every
year, as we are leav-
ing there has been
carolling. A perfect
way to end a perfect
night.

Last year, we stayed
home the whole day.
In the morning
unwrapped presents.
We played some
games. We had din-
ner with candlelight.
It was fun.
