planning a
Queensway
appearance
HENSALL — The retire-
ment home staff and resi-
dents held a decorating
bee complete with refresh-
ments last week to
`spruce' up for Christmas.
Lisa Stewart, music ther-
apist spent Monday morn-
ing with residents working
her musical magic.
Stewart provides a very
valuable therapy—music
reaches many people
unable to benefit from
other programs.
Queensway's volunteer
auxiliary met Tuesday
morning to preview
December events and offer
their assistance wherever
needed. The Meals on
Wheels program especial-
ly would be difficult to pro-
vide without these dedicat-
ed women who deliver
Monday, Wednesday and
Friday.
Rev. John Tremulak of
Dashwood Lutheran
Church led worship
Tuesday for residents with
Belva Fuss as volunteer
organist. In the evening
Exeter Gospel Singers vis-
ited with an inspiring pre-
sentation of sacred music.
Volunteer Marg Cole
spent her Wednesday
afternoon organizing the
card games for the euchre
enthusiasts. Often family
members join in for a
Scrabble competition or
other favourite game.
Thursday evening Senior
Diners lingered over their
meal consisting of salad
bar, lasagna, garlic bread
and torte. The visiting that
happens among the Diners
is enjoyed as much as the
meal.

cial birthday party with

POLICE BRIEFS
ZURICH — A represen-
tative of Zurich Food
Market contacted Huron
OPP Dec. 6 to report an
attempted theft.
Police say someone
attempted to force open a
pop machine in front of
the business overnight.
One of two padlocks was
pried off the unit while
the other was partially
removed. The thief was
not successful but did
cause considerable dam-
age to the machine.
Huron OPP officers are
continuing to investigate.

Stolen truck discovered
EXETER — On Dec. 1 at 7:30 a.m. the OPP was con-
tacted over a vehicle BDM Motors was trying to buy.
The officer discovered someone had contacted the
garage over a black 1994 Dodge Ram pickup truck for
sale. The garage took the vehicle in and decided they
were going to buy it. The garage made a number of
repairs to the vehicle and was waiting for the owner-
ship. The seller told them the ownership had been lost
and this made the garage suspicious. They contacted
the Ministry of Transportation and found out the truck
was stolen from the Belleville area. The vehicle has
been seized and OPP officers are investigating two
males.
