Panthers win two in Stratford tourney
STRATFORD - The Panther girls hockey team swept
a pair of games Dec. 10 in Stratford with a 5-3 win
over St. Mike's and a 3-0 win over GDCI.
Coach Heather Strano said although the Panthers
were missing Katie Stewart, other players showed
good leadership in back to back games.
The team had to switch arenas between games with
only enough time to remove their skates.
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Anne
Gregus in the first period and added two more in the
second from Kristen Ferguson and Magen Overholt.
St. Mike's put in a goal late in the period and added
two more in the third but the Panthers fired two more

late from Emily Sararas for the 5-3 win.
Getting assists in the effort were Kelly Cronyn,
Michele Weber, Meaghan Ellison, Jenna Phillips,
Michelle McCann, Kristin Hefley and Kristen Ferguson.
Against GDCI, the Panthers fired one goal in the first
from Kristyn Regier and two in the third from Sararas
for the shutout win.
Kristen Ferguson picked up a pair of assists in the
win with singles from Weber and Brittany Schroeder.
The Panthers will be defending their Aquinas tourna-
ment `B' title Tuesday and Wednesday and will be at
home Dec. 16 to face Madill at 2:30 p.m.
