Former Exeter Hawk and current Strathroy Rocket Shayne Andrews describes scor- ing what has been called the greatest goal in Rockets history. Andrews was involved in a shootout against the Leamington Flyers Oct. 14 when he scored a goal which is referred to as a "Cheecho" after Jonathan Cheecho who scored using it for the San Jose Sharks against the Colorado Avalanche last year in the playoffs. Driving towards the Flyers net, Andrews slipped his stick back- wards between his legs and flipped the puck past Leamington goalie Frank Dayus in one motion. The goal evened the shootout before the Rockets won it with their next shot. Andrews said he had worked on the move in practice before but had never tried it in a game. "The goalie is not really expecting it and you get him moving across the net and put the puck up Former Exeter Hawk Shayne Andrews scores a between the legs goal for the Strathroy Rockets in a shootout against the Leamington Flyers in October described as the Rockets goal of the century. Coming back to the bench after scoring with the move, Andrews faced the usual ribbing from his teammates. "They thought I was pretty crazy that I tried that because if I didn't score we would have lost Bowling scoreboard Zurich Town & Country Lane. • Sunday Night No Frills Nov. 21 High Single High Triple Mike Rahn 213 Mike Rahn 579 Brad Rahn 231 Brad Rahn 621 Ben Heywood 132 Ben Heywood 347 Matt Rahn 205 Matt Rahn 466 Marg Steadman 152 Marg Steadman 364 Lane 6 Jay Rahn 178 Jay Rahn 508 • Monday Night Ladies Nov. 22 High avg.: Sharon Laye 179 High Single High Triple Lane 1: Pat Love 215 Lorna Wernham 536 Lane 2: Sabrina Oesch 235 Sabrina Oesch 567 Lane 3: Hilda VanderHoek 182 Hilda VanderHoek 493 Lane 4: Carmel Sweeney 193 Carmel Sweeney 513 Lane 5 Donna Thiel 158 Donna Thiel 444 Lane 6 Elaine Weido 234 Elaine Weido 619 • Tuesday Night Men Nov. 23 High avg.: Trevor Lansbergen 228 High Single High Triple Dream Team: Jerry Hetherington 363 Jerry Hetherington 801 Holland: Corey Ducharme 283 Ted Stanlake 703 Ramblers: Tony Bedard 243 Mike Cregan 645 Rockets: Martin Dykestra 239 Jim Bedard 596 Lane Changers: Trevor Lansbergen 279 Matt LaPorte 733 Pumpkin Patch: Les Coleman 293 Les Coleman 711 • Wednesday Morning Ladies Nov. 24 High avg.: Betty Sangster183 High Single High Triple Lane 1: Betty Sangster 195 Betty Sangster 504 Lane 2: Louise Kopp 163 Ola Batten 406 Lane 3: Marion Burdett 200 Mary Jefferies 482 Lane 4: Grace Hodgins 188 Kathy Winter 454 • Grand Cove Seniors Nov. 25 High avg. mew Bert Steenhuis 185 High avg. ladies: Cathie Robison 168 High Single High Triple Lane 3: Ralph Simons 223 Ralph Simons 583 Lane 4: Bert Steenhaus 171 Bert Steenhaus 473 Lane 5: Patricia Rogers 187 Gord McKernan 492 Lane 6: John Wassing 195 John Wassing 460 • Zurich and area Seniors Nov. 25 High avg. men: Bill Muller 190 High avg. ladies: Glena Olcen 166 High Single High Triple Lane 3: Bill Muller 213 Bill Muller 557 Lane 4: Bill Coleman 187 BM Coleman 486 • Thursday Night Mixed League Nov. 25 High avg. mew Les Coleman 229 High avg. ladies: Laurie Stanlake 189 High Single High Triple Lane 3: Ted Stanlake 245 Ted Stanlake 656 Lane 4: Les Coleman 268 Les Coleman 672 Lane 5: Mike Cregan 299 Mike Creegan 767 Lane 6: Pete Morneau 215 Pete Morneau 525 • Zurich Youth Bowling League Nov. 27 High Single High Triple High Average (this week) (this week) (season to date) • Bantam • Boys: Joel Hebert 123 Joel Hebert 351 Lucas Walper 100 Girls: Justine Anderson 168 Justine Anderson 391 Justine Anderson 129 • Junior • Boys: Jay Hebert 205 Dylan Fidler 471 Dylan Fidler 192 Girls: Kacey Rothenberg 157 Cheryl Regier 392 Cheryl Regier 152 • Senior • Boys: Brent Ducharme 307 Brent Ducharme 727 Kevin Ducharme 208 Girls: Miranda Stoneman 174 Brittany Meidinger 404 Miranda Stoneman 156 Personal Season High Singles this week: Austen Kowell-Decman 110; Jon - Luc Dietrich 181; Travis Wernham 191; Donald Dinney 161; Josh Windsor 169 Personal Season High Triples this week Christine Dickert 328; Donald Dinney 428 Lane 1: Lane 2: Lane 3: Lane 4: Lane 5 I think, because they had already scored a goal."
